Brutal, finely rendered but why abridged?

It is glorious to listen to the prose style that dazzled many of us for years. How wonderful to have the opportunity to revisit this author - at last.
More please..but from a range of her books. I laud her brave writing about human beings used by circumstance, other human beings and specifically, war.
