About this listen

Slay your foes. Save the damsels. Level up to become the Master of Swords!

To face down an unstoppable evil, each kingdom of Occida bound the soul of a young woman to their realm’s most powerful weapons. But the enemy’s final act of treachery teleports away the mythical devices, along with the souls trapped inside them.

A century later, Dante Castillo, top dueling performer at the Canterbury Faire, gets yanked off the stage by an impressed goddess. She drops him in the Venetian-style city of Rivoli, where he’s forced to grab the Duke’s prized rapier before escaping into the night.

Castillo evokes the fiery and stunning Contessa who’s been imprisoned within the blade. Her aid proves vital, but he’ll need to fight, train, and level up.

Beyond the walls of the great city, Dante will encounter elves, beast-kin, dragons, barbarians, and the lost women in need of his rescue!

Good start

Really like the book. Way to start off a series.
Look forward to the next one. The voice actor was phenomenal.

Swash buckling epic

I was on the edge of my seat for all the fights. It's like Zoro and Princess Bride had a baby. Great comedy action and spice for the whole family lol.

good world building

Sloss and Dane create an interesting world with magic and cultures that are unique to the book. Poon is a fantastic voice actor with range of character voices and her singing was a treat.

I am looking forward to further collabration betwee Sloss and Dand and hopefully, Alyssa will keep narrating, and singing.

Awesome

Honestly this is worth it just by the amazing performance of alyssa poon, sometimes I forgot that she was narrating solo and the accents were really good! now I did find the mc somewhat cringe at the beginning because of the way he was talking but it does tone down as the story progresses the only thing that is making me hesitate to get the second book is that there's no clear confirmation that the main antagonist is down for the count because if he shows up again I'll probably drop the series there.
