Massively helpful

This is an excellent book. Clearly the author has experience Counceling people who were children of adult alcoholics and or abused. I really took to heart why I’ve been successful... no, I didn’t do it on my own... yes I’ve failed, and I’ve embraced failure and learned from it each and every time. I’m trying to be a supportive team member, spouse, and friend. Often I even fail at that, but I learn each and every time from that.
Thank you for writing this book.

Not exactly what you expect

I bought this book thinking it will give me insight about being less fearful. Using kind of techniques.

It does not do that. Instead it gives a different perspective of fear. And kind of shows you how to handle it better here is a little summary.

If you are afraid - going for someone else to get support will lower your amigdala response and you will return to normal.

Rejection is not a bad thing in itself. The bad thing you fear about is the voice or story you have in your head. The author shows example and proves his point quite good. So if you change the voice you will have less fear.

These are the 2 main themes in this books which the author explores.

This should be a standard course

The honest reality of fear, also known as stress, and should be a mandatory course for all freshman high school students.
