Publisher's summary

This audiobook by Pema Chödrön, the renowned American Buddhist nun, offers short, stand-alone sections designed to help us cultivate compassion and awareness amid the challenges of daily living. More than a collection of thoughts for the day, Comfortable with Uncertainty offers a progressive program of spiritual study, leading the listener through essential concepts, themes, and practices on the Buddhist path.

Comfortable with Uncertainty does not assume prior knowledge of Buddhist thought or practice, making it a perfect introduction to Chödrön's teachings on lovingkindness, meditation, mindfulness, "nowness", letting go, and working with fear and other painful emotions. Through the course of this audiobook, listeners will learn practical methods for heightening awareness and overcoming habitual patterns that block compassion.

Don't despair you can move beyond

The Buddhist teachings from Pema are meant for us to move beyond our false self. Not an easy task since we are very grounded.
I am a Christian and turning to Jesus Christ has given me strength to put my focus on his life and his message, which is looking to love one another as he loves us. Again, not an easy way because we tend to get fixated on our culture and Jesus came to free us from this bondage.

Thought Provoking

I love this philosophy. I will listen to it several times. That is why I like to have books in audible that contain the Knowledge and support whenever I need it. The narrator was fine. I just put the added a little more speed to the reading.

Great book useful

This book gives many Buddha insights into a better being and enlightenment.

I should read it again and reflect on what it says.

The main thing of enlightenment is to melt your mind so you become flexible and open to experience. When you achieve this you become fearless.
