Marvin lives with his family under the kitchen sink in the Pompadays' apartment. He is very much a beetle. James Pompaday lives with his family in New York City. He is very much an 11-year-old boy.

After James gets a pen-and-ink set for his birthday, Marvin surprises him by creating an elaborate miniature drawing. But James can't go through with the plan without Marvin's help. And that's where things get really complicated (and interesting!). a small beetle, Marvin, stops a art heist & become friends with a boy too! Elise Broach, author creates story that is down to earth & makes you think the beetle, Marvin is a real person. love the friendship that develops between the main characters, a boy & beetle.

I had no dislikes. It was absolutely phenomenal. The plot was overwhelmingly great it could’ve had a little more with the hunt for the photo. I mean the pictures.

this book is great for young readers and listeners relating to a talking bug to the older listeners looking for a good mystery. the author uses imagery amazingly and narrator is wonderful to listen to
