Story
Lynesse is the lowly Fourth Daughter of the queen, and always getting in the way. But a demon is terrorizing the land, and now she's an adult (albeit barely) with responsibilities (she tells herself). Although she still gets in the way, she understands that the only way to save her people is to invoke the pact between her family and the Elder sorcerer who has inhabited the local tower for as long as her people have lived here (though none in living memory has approached it).

Story
This is the story of Dan—a high school dropout who plays guitar in a heavy metal band and has a minimum wage job wearing a mouse costume. He's not exactly destined for great things. Then Dan wakes up in another world—a world where science never progressed past the Middle Ages, and the laws of physics have been replaced by role-playing game rules. Dan makes some mistakes—some big mistakes. Dan becomes a Death Knight: a walking personification of death and darkness. Now, Dan must fight monsters, zealots, and demons just to survive, and he must do it all alone.

Story is amazing. The performer less so
The narrator really put a strain on listening to the story. The way she pronounced words like button, mountain, and kitten, was absolutely distracting and juvenile. The story itself was great and would love to see another book in the same universe as it were.

Pretty decent, odd
Odd little story, definitely interesting, and a bit outside of what I usually go for. Certainly not bad, and there was definitely a focus on music and culture that I don’t see often. But definitely odd.

Underdeveloped Story and Simplistic Reading
Interesting concepts with a scattered plot. While adult themes were included, they often still felt over simplified which made the book feel childlike.
The narrator gave the reading a childish vibe, but was consistent throughout the reading. At times, I felt that the reader was tonally portraying the message of the author incorrectly.

Complex generation ship conspiracy
Emily Devenport's Medusa Uploaded is a complex tale of revenge and revolution taking place aboard a generation ship 100 years in and 100 years away from their destination. Society is organized into a small cadre of executives, organized into family clans, who run the place with a small contingent of technical types, while the vast majority of the population are virtual slaves, whose lives are considered less than worthless. With her parents having been part of a small underground insurgency, the main character receives an implant that connects her with a cache of mobile AIs, the Medusa. She is "killed" multiple times reemerging with a new identity always plotting and judiciously killing her way towards her goal of emancipation. Along the way, she discovers more conspiracies and additional players with plans far beyond what she has been led to believe and learns the past is not what she has been taught, the present is not what she believes, and the future is markedly different from what she was expecting.
As the story unfolds on an interstellar generation ship, all the routine accouterments are present. Her implant serves as both a communication device with her Medusa, but also allows for interface with the ship's systems. Genetic engineering is hinted as well as evolved version of humanity. As the innocent nature of the implant is focused on music, there are continual references to many classical pieces, along with a recovered film library that creates intriguing digressions into film critique.
The narration is passable, but character distinction is a bit strained which can make conversations tedious.

wonderful. needs better music
I absolutely loved the book. I feel however that with all of the references and allusions to classical music and other art forms that it might have benefited a great deal from including at least small snippets of the music mentioned when possible.

Interesting Story Line
Oichi is a very interesting character. She has many facets but the main one seem to be how easily she kills. Not that she does it for any but the best reasons. She is on a mission to change life on the generation ship. Turns out that ship is not all that it seems. The plot starts moving toward one goal with one set of characters then turns and turns again often with a new set of characters. The changes also change the world building while the back story drives the characters in different directions. This is book one in The Medusa Cycle and while it answered some question it creates others as the story progresses. It did leave a lot up in the air but there is help on the way. Book will be out soon.
Caitlin Davies does a great job giving the right emotion to all the different voices in the story.

had a great premise
This story started out with a great premise and striking visual descriptions. Had some honest moments of real suspense. Eventually the story became repetitive and didn't seem to follow any logic. The ending seemed to happen out of nowhere, and closed it's remaining plot points seemingly at random.
