About this listen

No one expects their happy ending to start with a fake boyfriend.

Especially Marti McBride.

As the infamous author of New York City's singles column, Marti's entire identity is wrapped up in being single.

But when her boss informs her that her ratings have plummeted, she is forced to make a change. And her boss just so happens to think a boyfriend is the way to do it.

Doctor Logan Love has a plan. Garner more donations for his charity and go nationwide.

So after two chance run-ins with the wildly popular and nationally syndicated columnist, Marti McBride, he proposes a fake relationship. Okay, more like he blackmails her into one. Same difference.

There's only one little problem. Both of them are starting to fall, and Marti has her own agenda he knows nothing about.

Can they turn a fake relationship into love?

Fantastic story

This story has me completely riveted in the very best of ways. I loved every second, the chemistry, the banter, the easy way you just fell right into their story alongside them. Delightfully snarky and funny as well as wonderfully sexy with some surprises in store for us. Rhonda Cusumano does a wonderful job portraying & bringing the characters to life.

well.....

I have to admit, I didn't finish. the narator wasn't working for me. the tone of her voice was fine, but her cadence/speech pattern, something was off. I tried adjusting the speed but I couldn't find anything that worked. it was almost robotic, how they don't pronounce inflections properly. I can't put my finger on it, but I just couldn't finish when I realized I own the ebook as well. I was enjoying the story itself, and I know it will be better if I just read it, rather than listen

Good fake relationship story

The Fake Relationship trope is one of my favorites, and Tia Souders wrote a fun story with great dialogue. I really enjoyed the banter between Marti and Logan. This is a clean romance. I’m looking forward to book 2!

Love never lies

The divorce of Marti McBride's parents rocked her world when she was young. And she determined never to give anyone the chance to break her heart in the way that her father broke her mother's. She's made a career of writing about being single in the city, and how she doesn't need a man in order to live a fulfilling life.

Then in walks Dr. Logan Love... She has no idea what to do with him, but he makes her feel things she's never felt before and turns her world upside down.

The question is, is she willing to walk away from her career and a job she loves in order to have the man she wants?

I really enjoyed the premise of this story. At times, it got a little repetitive, especially when Marti is trying to reconcile what she believes with what she feels. But I recognize that's a very natural way of processing things. She kept running up against the same issues and needed to sort through them.

And Logan was a dream. His sincerity and patience were wonderful, and I loved the banter between the two of them.

There was an odd thing at the end that appeared to be two minutes of random extra audio files; flashbacks to earlier scenes in the book. At first, I thought it was some kind of epilogue. But I think it's just a file upload issue. It did detract from the ending though because it was hard to determine where the end was. I had to listen a couple of times to figure out what was going on.

But overall, if you ignore the last two minutes, the story was a lot of fun and well-worth the time to read it.

Cute story!

I enjoyed this book. The story really draws you in and gets you invested in the people their in.

The narration was decent. The main character was portrayed a bit whiney and the male speakers were a little difficult to identify at times. Also I noticed a slight southern accent which didn’t fit the New York scene.
