About this listen

From Wall Street Journal and #1 Amazon bestselling author Winter Renshaw comes a fast-paced, emotional romance about what happens when the wrong twin falls for the right man.

Being an identical twin has its perks, but when my sister asked me to sub in for a date with Roman Bellisario, I wasn’t exactly thrilled. Sure, he’s sinfully handsome and successful, but he also got me fired from my dream job three years ago.

This time, my sister’s promotion is riding on this date, so I have to say yes. And as it turns out, we’re strangely perfect for each other. I sell art. He collects it. We’re both obsessed with the same obscure, mysterious artist that most people don’t even know exists.

Roman is guarded, though, and I can understand why. He’s a widowed single dad. But as one date leads to another, he starts to let me in, and I can’t help but fall for him.

The problem is Roman still thinks I’m my sister. Is our twin swap going to be the best thing that ever happened to me and Roman—or the lie that tears us apart?

Critic reviews

“Filled with drama and suspense, the novel takes readers on an emotional ride from the depths of loss to the soaring highs—and fears—of new romance. The little hint of wish fulfillment perfectly rounds out this sultry summer read.”Publishers Weekly

I liked that there was an actual focus on the plot and this story wasn't lost in all of the spicy scenes. Thank you, for that! There was the perfect amount and the love scenes didn't last three chapters.
The only thing I didn't like was how long the lie dragged out. If it ended sooner, we could have had a little more of an ending, maybe?
Although I prefer dual narration, these two were good.

Sweet, slow burn romance

I read it and loved it. The audiobook version is great! I like Winter Renshaw's writing. Roman and Sloane's story is beautifully written, entertaining, sweet, and engaging. They are perfect for each other. The storyline is interesting, and heartwarming. Tristan James and Stella Bloom did an excellent job bringing this story to life. I enjoyed it.

The story was decent and well written. The ONLY thing I didn’t care for about this book was that it was kind of depressing! There’s just so much inner turmoil going on. Other than that this book is extremely well done from the dialogue to the concepts.

Great narrators but…

Winter you have had better, did you just let your main modern character use thrice? This shit is dragggggiiiiiiggggiiinnnggg and I’m only on chapter 4/5 it’s a DNF for me. Love you gal but not your usual and the narrators are totally to par.

“You were always meant for me, Sloane,” he whispers, his lips grazing mine.

“It’s you,” he says. “It’s you or it’s no one.”

You or Someone Like You was angsty delicious goodness and I was caught up on every single word. The chemistry, the teasing slow burn…it was just so freaking good. Sloane and Roman were so perfect for each other that it hurt.
Roman, heartbroken and grieving when we first met him, is done with everything relationships and love but he never expected Sloane.
Sloane was sweet and selfless, love wasn’t on her radar at the moment but life had other plans.
I absolutely loved watching these two fall.

The premise of this story had me intrigued and during my read I was anxiously on pins and needles. With every turn of the page, I never knew if it would be the moment of truth and how everything would be after the smoke cleared.

Winter Renshaw’s books are a one sit read for me. From the moment I pick it up, it’s impossible to put it down until I get to that dreaded last page and forced to say goodbye. Sloane and Roman’s story was no exception.

loved the love story of Roman and Sloan. It’s amazing how things just come together the way they should. How grief can lead to a second chance at love.

I loved the little twist in the story. It’s woven so well, it becomes seamless. A beautiful love story!

The narrators do a good job. With the listen.

I liked the story, kept me interested but I struggled with the males voice so much!!!! Unfortunately, the narrator sounded like he was in his 50s/ 60s (nothing wrong with that) however, it made it impossible to believe the male character was young and in his 30s. I just kept picturing an older, rich, gentleman who was dating a 20 something YO. I wish they had gone with a different narrator for this story.

I like it!
