Charon and Laura

This is a spin-off of the Dark Sword series and takes place in modern times. The Warriors and Druids are a part of the Dark World. Midnight’s Captive is the sixth in this new series, all the characters from the Dark Sword are present. This series was read as a part of the Audible Escape package.

All Warriors seem to be drawn to Druids, but Charon can not understand why he is so drawn to the lovely Laura-she has no magic. While fighting an ancient evil the skeleton in Laura’s family closet comes to light. Will it bring them together or drive them apart.

A bit much

I understand that you want each sexual encounter to be better than the last but “harder, faster, deeper, higher than ever before” than the encounter they had not an hour before. Let’s keep reality, at least, someplace close.

Not my usual genre, but.....

I chose this as part of the Romance Category challenge. The fantasy genre is not what I normally read, but I will say that it was well written, steamy enough with not one, but two couples and easy to listen to it in its entirety, even though the storyline is way out of my norm. Highly recommended author and I am sure that if this is your preferred category, you would not be disappointed in this series!

Best of the bunch

This is definitely the best book in the series. But I don't think it would be as enjoyable as a stand alone.

MIND-BLOWING....... WOW JUST WOW

For all you Paranormal romance lovers out there who haven't yet discovered or downloaded this FANTASTIC imaginative series then I just don't know what words I can say, that I haven't already said in my previous reviews, to convince you that this is an action-packed AWESOME series to get into.

It builds from it's foundations in Book 1 as we learn of the Dark Warriors, ancient magical warriors who are mentally/physically damaged (but usually handsome hunks of course), then the sensual exciting story-lines gets added to book by book with so many mind blowing twists that'll have you on the edge of your seat. DG fills them to the brim with likeable, loveable and really evil villains, there's paranormal creatures, magic, intrigue, romance, tender love stories, sex, danger and destinies changed in a series that delivers the X factor.

This is one of those non stop listens that'll have you saying "you have the remote tonight dear" and "let's order in" and who cares what time of night it finishes because you just can't stop listening as the build-up in both tension and romance hooks you in (2 romances in this one) whilst it also reunites you with past Warriors and their mates along with the 'still single' Warriors as they are all called to battle a deadly enemy with the help of..... Dragons.

Not really a stand-alone listen because of the many layers of past events that's mentioned and why deprive yourselves of a single chapter - start at book 1 and know it only gets better from there..

Worth a credit? I think this listen is the best so far and, if I could, I would have given it more stars because DG has cracked the formula for a new world-building paranormal series that'll blow you away. So that's a big fat gooey YES written in spoonfuls of your favorite flavour Ben & Jerry's ice cream.

Charon and Laura

Laura has worked for Charon for several years. He is attracted to her but since he can't feel her powers he thinks that she isn't a druid and that there would be no future for them.
Laura ran away from her controlling family and has found a place in the town that Charon runs as his assistant. She has been half in love with him since she met him.
Laura gets him an appointment at Dreagan so that they can sell and distribute Dreagan Whiskey. That is how we meet the Dragon Kings. Aiden also has a part to play in this book.
Jason has made a plan to kidnap Laura in order to make Charon suffer before he kills him.
This has been the best book of this series so far! Read to find what happens with the king's and Jason.
Love listening to this narrator!

Outstanding, get a bonus couple & reunion

This storyline was fantastic, it has two couple in it & all past warriors/druids & many of the Dark King series & tells how they’re connected. You can’t miss this book. The couple’s stories are really good. There is so much action, love, mystery, never a slow moment.

boooooring

These are not Alpha men and there is way to much unimportant details and not enough story with the 2 main characters....hard to get through this one.

inconsistent

I really wish the narrator had a better hold of a British accent. it was downright distracting.
