Chandler Hendricks hates his life. Socially awkward and a near shut-in, Chandler spends his time caring for his ailing mother and watching the neighbors from his window.
His favorite person to watch is his next-door neighbor Samantha. Young and beautiful, she would be the woman of any man’s dreams. Chandler knows he will make Samantha happy, if she just gave him a chance.
Chandler’s finally ready to make a change and live the life he always wanted…even if it already belongs to someone else.

Well written and fast paced.
The narration was perfect!
Fear the neighbor

Rooting for the neighbors as the main character starts to slip into madness.
I give the story ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ because it was engaging but I feel like the ending was a little too forced and rushed.
Obsession

While our main character isn’t the most sympathetic individual (clearly displaying psychopathic behavior and some anti-social tendencies in addition to a disturbing obsession/fixation), I felt some empathy for Chandler who was raised by an abusive distrustful mother (yeah feeling the Ed Gein influence there) and just needed an understanding friend or relative along with copious amounts of psychiatric treatment.
While the death scenes in the story aren’t overtly graphic, they’re still uncomfortable to read/listen to & you sort of cheer two of the deaths since they’re pretty despicable people. However the ending really caught me off-guard as I expected a nasty end for our lead, but the author throws a dark curveball at us that kinda makes me want a follow-up story to see what happened afterwards.
Creepy & Engaging

I think this story was well written and TC King did a great job narrating. The ending was sad and little bit infuriating lol but not quite as infuriating as the ending to Stolen Tongues so I cant be too mad about it lol Plus...there aren't happy endings in horror so it really should have come at no surprise.
I think that LM Kaplin's imagination definitely came up with a scary story that is all too realistic because people do this stuff every day! I mean ....look at the story behind Gypsy Rose lol
Over all a good read.... or ...listen ... I definitely recommend this for people who like the more realistic horrors ...from the POV of the "bad guy" ... people who love the horror where the monster is a person. Definitely worth getting into and its fairly short so it is a one sitting book. ....also....congrats to LM Kaplin on this story making the final 32 in the indie brawl in Books of Horror!!!
