’Tis the season for an office romance!

Working beyond nine to five and barely getting by, Melanie Thomas is eager to celebrate the impending holiday season and to toast the start of her dream marketing job over drinks with her boyfriend. Unfortunately, he has different plans - like seeing other women.

Indulging in a pity party with tequila, Melanie confides in a sexy stranger at the bar. It’s almost Christmas. One night of letting go won’t hurt anything, right? Turns out, it just might, when the stranger is her new boss. Determined to succeed at her job, Melanie won’t be scared away. This is her chance, even if her hot boss has her feeling all merry and bright and wishing for a less-than-professional relationship.

Matthew Ryans is burned out and on thin ice at the company he helped build, unless he gets his head back in the game. Yet, his head, both upper and lower, are quickly becoming obsessed with his new assistant. Still, he can’t seem to fully begrudge Melanie’s distracting presence and the Christmas joy she brings with it. Especially considering that her enthusiasm has him reenergized.

For once, he is longing for Mondays, but with his heart and job on the line, he can’t risk blurring the lines no matter how strong the lure of holiday mistletoe is.

Will their holiday passion be able to fuel mutual career success, or will it only get in their way in the New Year?

Sweet with a bit of Heat office romance.

From the brilliantly naughty beginning, to the awww and tear inducing ending, Mine to Five was a joy! The story is well written featuring likable characters, a bit of heat, plenty of humor and just the right amount of angst. Fantastic narration made the story flow beautifully, and at just over four hours the length was perfect for me to finish in an evening. I will be listening to this one again!

Delightful!

Melanie Thomas has worked her whole life for a job as prestigious as the one she starts tomorrow. She's the new Creative Assistant of Marketing for the brilliant Matthew Ryans. When she calls her boyfriend to give him the good news, it's not her boyfriend who answers, it's his new conquest. Matthew Ryans is a marketing genius who has hit a rough spot in coming up with campaign ideas. He has always worked solo in the past, but the boss has assigned Melanie to work with him on a trial basis. He has no desire to work with someone else, but his job is dependent on coming up with a brilliant campaign. It's an overall feel-good story with highly-engaging characters. There are multiple storylines that are all expertly woven together and move at a consistent pace from the first word to the last.
The narration is expertly done by Verla Bond. She has a dynamic voice that has the right intonation and modulation to bring the characters to life.

Sweet office romance...

Mine to Five by Tara September was a cute office romance story. Mel breaks up with her boyfriend after finding out that he has been seeing other women behind her back. He was a dud anyways. She's at a restaurant/bar at the time that this occurs and she meets a super handsome, charming guy that she figures might just take her mind off of her miserable night and goes home with him. Cue to the following day, the start of her new job. Her new superior/partner is none other than the handsome guy she went home with the evening before. This starts off a fun, easy, romantic tale that revolves around Mel and Matthew. At a little under four and a half hours, the story doesn't go too deep into their relationship, but it was an enjoyable listen for a few hours. If you're looking for a nice, easy listen with a HEA, then I think you'll enjoy this one!

Verla Bond did a great job narrating this story. She read with emotion that really brought the characters to life. I would definitely listen to more books narrated by her in the future. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher for an honest review.

Sweet and steamy

I really enjoyed Melanie and Matthew’s story. It’s a sweet and steamy romance and it held my interest all the way through. I really could feel the attraction between these two, they are a perfect match. The storyline was a good one. It has a little holiday theme and I loved the part where they went for a Christmas tree and got to meet their respective moms after that.

I liked the narrator, Verla Bond. She did a pretty good job.

A delightful story

I was recently introduced to this author and after this audiobook, she definitely has been added to my must read list.
This delightful story brings us Melanie Thomas and Matthew Ryans.
One night at a bar, while Melanie , a marketing employee, was having a pity party after discovering her boyfriend was seeing other women, Matthew , a burnt out marketing executive was realizing his job was on the line. When they cross paths, they had a one stand night, neither realizing that they would ever see each other again.
Imagine their surprise when Melanie is introduced to her new boss, Matthew.
What at first was an uncomfortable arrangements , turns into a secret relationship and the best turn in events.
But what happens when Melanie is thrown a curveball? Will this be another step back in her personal and professional life, or will this holiday season become the best one ever?
This was an engaging story from start to finish and one worth your time.

Short and sweet

This was a great cute listen. I really liked the storyline and characters. The back and forth and hotness of the H and h was cute and built up sweetly. The narrator did a great job as well.

Unfortunatley for her, he wants to be seeing other women. She decides to confide in a stranger at a bar and let go for one night. Unfortunately foor her that stranger happens to be her new boss, Matthew. His job is on the line and his new assistant, Melanie, is distracting him. I really enjoyed this book. cute but predictable

I found this fun but super predictable. It doesn't deviate from the well-trod path even a little bit. But I also realize that this is part of what people like about holiday romances. So, I suppose this is a success in that regard.

I liked both characters well enough, though I thought their relationship (even with the awkward start) went from casual work colleagues to casual come-meet-my-mother way too quickly. And I was a little squinked out by the power imbalance of Mathew being older and Mel's boss. I realize this too is a fantasy—the powerful boss falling for the assistant. But it is pretty cliched and when the friction was introduced in the last quarter you really felt it.

The writing is crisp and easily readable...or listen-to-able in my case and the narrator did a good job. All in all, not a big winner for me (mostly because it's not really a story-line I gravitate toward in general), but also not a raspberry either.

Note: I won an audible code of this book. I chose to listen and review it.
