About this listen

A case of mistaken identity leads to holiday hijinks in this laugh-out-loud contemporary romance from the author of 10 Things I Hate About Mistletoe.

In need of a distraction from his dumpster fire of a love life, adventure tour guide Pike Sutton is thrilled when his favorite travel podcaster accepts an invitation to experience the gorgeous landscapes and festive charms of Mistletoe, Idaho. He knows her visit will mean great things for the business he shares with his friend Anthony, but Pike has no idea that the real force behind "Excursions" is nothing like what he sees on social media.

Ryler Perkins is perfectly happy being the voice behind the microphone while her cousin stars as the face of their popular podcast. She's used to men drooling all over Alia, but for once she finds herself wishing a certain sexy hipster lumberjack would notice her instead. Maybe that's why Ryler completely loses her mind and makes a move on Pike.

Their kiss under the mistletoe is more than steamy, but it abruptly ends when Pike discovers he's been smooching Alia's "assistant." He isn't about to jeopardize everything by seducing a woman who's off-limits. But as Pike guides the podcast crew around town and into the great outdoors, Ryler seems determined to get him hotter under the collar than a steaming cup of cocoa . . .

Lots of Laughs!

Ahhh I liked seeing this more in-depth view of all things Pike. He’s such a fun character. Really enjoyed this installment, and looking forward to the next. Loved the narration, as always!

My Favorite Characters from This Series So Far

I loved the overlapping timelines from the first book in the series. It was fun to see aspects of the previous story from a different perspective. I really enjoyed the characters more than the first book, though I love both stories. The adult moments were a bit much at times, and I felt like the story would have lost nothing without most of them. Overall, it got me in the feels in the best way. Loved it.

Too much repeated from first book

I love this series but there were way too many of the exact same passages from the first book. No one wants an exact replay.

Good book but felt like the first book

The book was a great story. The thing is that the book felt like large part was repeating the first book of this series. So I feel like I paid full price for a book I just read. I like the whole series and the characters are great, I just felt I read the first book with bonus content. Hopefully the last book is not the same.

Second book

Third person is not my favorite story told. It takes a second to get into it. I liked the story with Pike and Ryler.

The perfect sequel

Prior to this story - I wasn’t Pike’s biggest fan. In short, the character annoyed me but this story brings to light another side of Pike. It’s a good listen and surprisingly steaming!

Great series w wonderful characters

Loved the location and winter scenery. Characters carry through the series well and aren’t limited to one book each. Love getting updates on the whole crew in each book.

was not my favorite of Codi Hall's

I don't know what it was exactly but this was not my favorite. I found myself zoning out most of the time while listening to it and I usually love this series from this author. one thing that I particularly didn't like was the voice acting. I know they're the same voice actors that have done all the other stories from her but somehow it became a bit grating especially when the man would say things like baby and kitten. I don't know it just kind of gave me the ick every time. I wish they would do different voice actors for each of the books so that way we could have a variety for each character. it wasn't such a big deal when they would come out once a year but with multiple coming out in the same Christmas season this year variety would have been enjoyable. our main character was fine and it was nice seeing Pikes side of the story as well as he has been a character in many of the other books. overall a fine read but somehow a little less enjoyable.

Original Trilogy is better

I read & liked the original Mistletoe series - Nick/Noel, Merry, and Holly - but these were tougher to get through. The spicy scenes were a lot more descriptive in these books, so if you like that kind of stuff, you’ll like these. But my major issue actually started with Declan in Holly’s book… the women in these books are so.damn.argumentative. I get it, I love a strong female lead. But everything that is said to them, they immediately get on the defensive,

The new trio of books are ok, but the original ones are better. Still a nice, light holiday read.
