About this listen

Modern Man in Search of a Soul is the classic introduction to the thought of Carl Jung. Along with Freud and Adler, Jung was one of the chief founders of modern psychiatry. In this book, Jung examines some of the most contested and crucial areas in the field of analytical psychology: dream analysis, the primitive unconscious, and the relationship between psychology and religion.

Between literary analysis, archetypes, Joseph Campbell, and Jordan B Peterson, I can't believe it has taken me this long to actually read/listen o Jung himself. Wealth of insights and well-explained. I took a lot of notes.

If you've been listening to Jordan B Peterson,

I love anything by Jung. I can't wait to read his book on synchronicity. Wish me luck.

This booked made me want to learn more.

I would say the person who dies into the mind of young should have a base level of knowledge as well as a fundamental understanding of their own beliefs. Jung is so intellectually gifted that his writings will shake the foundation of any man, who stands on something. The inside wisdom gathered from this book is profound I'm doubtful any man can read it once and gained all it has to offer. I will be revisiting this book again soon. Cheers!

It really makes sense that our minds is the problem. Though it was written many years ago it is still relevant.

Where does Modern Man in Search of a Soul rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

One of my favorites. Jung is a true mystic and scientist. His words are as relevant today as they were 80 years ago. This is a must for anyone interested in the state of Modern Man (and I absolutely mean everyone who is interested in TODAY)

What other book might you compare Modern Man in Search of a Soul to and why?

I would suggest reading James Hillman a man of true insight.

Have you listened to any of Christopher Prince’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No

Any additional comments?

I suggest that this book is worth listening to at least twice as it is so full of wisdom.

I love Jung, first of all.

His effort at understanding and conveying understanding is in depth and as conclusive as one can get. That is only to say that he gets close. The adventure is amazing, and the buckets of knowledge he lends along the way are life changing.

Get it, read it, and morph into something new along the way.

Mind warp.

the book itself was great the narrator was not a good fit for the book or me. he sounds like the person who narrates "how it's made" on discovery. that being said it was kind of hard listen unfortunately.
