Publisher's summary

Beneath the tranquil sea, terror lurks.... Its tentacles are strong enough to crush steel. Its beak can reduce a whale to mulch. It knows no fear - only fury. Now, it has risen from the abyss and seeks to feed on anything in this bright new world above. On the island of Diamond Green, it has discovered new prey.... Humans.

Release the Kraken

Well folks Michael Cole has done it again. Monster from the Abyss is a fantastic read. The plot was very well done it starts off a little slow focusing more on character development rather then the creature. However once the creature does show up this book picks up quick. The Giant Octopus in this story reminds me of the Kraken from Greek Mythology mixed with the terminator. This creature is smart and unlike other creatures in Michael Coles books this one seemed to be the one most set out for revenge. The characters in this story are very well written. Once again I am left with wanting to know more about what happens to these characters after the creature is defeated. The narrator did a good job bringing the characters to life. I did at first question his take on Dr. Roy but eventually grew to like it. All in all I would recommend this to anyone who likes a good creature feature or really enjoys a good thriller.

Horrible Narration

I can't even finish this book at all, or even get through the first couple chapters, because the narrator sounds either insanely bored or drunk or who knows. Seriously I've listened to hundreds of books on here and this is quite possibly the worst narration I've ever heard. If I was the author I would be furious at this performance because no one can listen to the actual story. I really hope I never run across this narrator again because he's absolutely terrible.

Awful Narrator!

The narrator is truly one of the worst I've ever heard. Doesn't an editor or the author listen to these narrators before hiring them?

reservoir dog

Horrible! Easy to figure out how the creature would be killed. Narrator was lousy. Go get The Beast by Benchly for a good story. No more Cole for me.
