About this listen

A shifter. A woman forced to marry someone else and a pack that wants her dead.

Elizabeth has never defied her father. Until she meets Orin, a dark, forbidden stranger who claims he’s her mate. The way he makes her feel is terrifying but not even her father’s most brutal punishments are enough to keep her away.

When Orin discovers his mate is not only human but about to marry another man, he vows to stay away. But now that’s found her, his pack wants her dead and he’ll do anything to protect her.

The fight with Orin’s family is put on hold when Elizabeth is taken hostage by a rival pack. Turns out defying her father was the easy part. Now, Elizabeth is in for a real fight to get back to the life she’s created with Orin...only if she can survive.

Historical Romance

I went into this story blind. I didn't even read the summary. turned out to be a historical romance and the story was super cute. Narration was very good as well.

The Time Was Set in a Different Era

It was a good book. it was a bit odd at first until I understood that it was set back a few years in time and then it made sense. I hated that Elizabeth was just a pawn to her father for social standings but I'm glad she found love. I was hoping when they eloped that they would never return but that was not the case. Now she has a new family and that brings on a whole new set of problems once she learns things about not only her new husband, but also her mother who died giving birth to her.

The narrator has a young voice and you have to pay attention to the story to find out which character says what. After a while it becomes easier to go back and forth with characters as the narrators voice doesn't change depth to depict a man speaking. Overall, the narrator did a good job on this book. This particular narrator is new to me so it may be how she does it or it may be how the author wanted done, you never know.

Overall, I enjoyed listening to this book and it gave me a new perspective.

A different shifter story

This started out very good. It’s not typical shifter story. The differences were nice and added to the story but people who follow shifter stories might not care for it. I am a huge shifter reader so I did have a few issues through the story. The story moves along at a nice pace. Although it really zipped along during the second half.

This is my first book by this author. Her characters are interesting and I could see the growth in them. The story was different but still good. I enjoyed it. I listened to this on audio. Amanda Abeillan did a good job with all these characters and was easy to listen to.

Great Read

Moonstruck: A Shifter Romance was a good read by Heather Young-Nichols. Orin is a werewolf who finally found his mate but she';s human. His pack wants her dead and she's about to marry another man. Elizabeth always fantasized about defying her father's plan but never thought she could. That is until she meets Orin. Elizabeth is taken hostage by a rival pack and all she wants is to get back to the life she's created with Orin. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.

Historically Romance With A Werewolf Twist!

Moonstruck is a historical paranormal romance novel that will keep you on your toes till the very end. The synopsis is intriguing as well as the narrative. The world building descriptions and settings are well detailed. The writing style captures the essence of the genre perfectly. Character's are complex and well seasoned. Supporting character's are a integral part of the narrative and are well composed. Brimming with sweet moments and suspenseful ones that will tug at your heart. Trickling through the pages are tear jerker moments. With a perfect happily ever after to end it all. I would love to see this novel extended into a series as I would love to learn more about Orin and Elizabeth's families.

Narator Amanda Abeilkan's performance was impeccable. Very entertaining and sweet to listen to. Her tone and pace flows through smoothly. It had all the right feels in the right places. Her voice was age appropriate to portray Elizabeth, realisticaly brought her character and the narrative to life. She gave it her all as historical vibes were swirling through the narrative. She was the perfect choice to narrate this audiobook.

Absolutely loved the narative and narator.

Fighting for love

I enjoyed this story and the timeframe it took place in during Prohibition. A forbidden love between a wolf shifter and a human with a background that is a mystery. This couple fought for their love even though it was hard. Surprise allies and enemies make this an exciting story. I received a complimentary audio and this review is voluntary.

Interesting shifter romance

I don’t really like the whole damsel, arranged marriage type books, but I love shifter stories so I wanted to give this a listen. The narrator did a good job and she really fit the characters well. Orin and Elizabeth have good chemistry and they are really sweet together. They have some good passion too. Elizabeth’s father is really strict with her and has arranged for her to marry a cad of a man. When she meets Orin at a party, the connection between them can’t be denied. Orin tries to push her away because he doesn’t want her involved in his shifter world. There’s danger afoot! I like that Elizabeth stands up for herself, but she does also act like a damsel, so I didn’t love her but she’s okay. She grew up pampered; she’s kind of weak in physicality, so she doesn’t offer much that way. It’s great she’s exerting her independence, but unfortunately, it leads to her making poor decisions. Orin is a sweetheart and I loved how protective he is. The time period seemed weird to place at times, but overall an entertaining story. There’s some interesting action and the story pulled me in.
