About this listen

One week. No future. No past. No more.

Alexandria Collins has one week to live carefree - no ghosts of her past or pressures of her future haunting her. Reinventing herself as "Charli", she is knocked off her feet by a sexy, mysterious man who brings her pleasure like she never imagined. With her heart at stake, she forgets that decisions made in the dark of night reappear in the bright light of day.

"Some of my tastes are unique. They aren't for everyone. I understand that."

Lennox "Nox" Demetri is wealthy, confident, and decisive - he knows what he wants. From the first time he sees Charli at an exclusive resort, he knows he wants her. Although he is usually the one to make the rules, together they agree on one: one week. No more.

When betrayal comes from those closest to Alexandria, she must decide how far she is willing to go to survive. Choices are not always easy, especially when they involve the heart, body, and soul. After all, Infidelity is a business, and some rules are meant to be broken.

"Is it really cheating if you're doing it to yourself?"

One week...

What made the experience of listening to Betrayal the most enjoyable?

Samantha Prescott of course, she did a great job with the various characters.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Alex, she is strong and determined. While it may seem like she caves when it comes to her family she really is just biding her time.

Any additional comments?

"Charli" away on vacation with her friend meets "Nox", they are instantly attracted to each other, and they agree to one week...no last names no past. Charli has high expectations set by her very wealthy, very manipulative family. After her vacation she has plans to start working toward her goals of becoming a lawyer but somehow is sucked back into the family she's trying to escape.

This is told in mostly in Charli's (Alex, Alexandria's) POV. We get chapters in the past and the present, because of this it did take me a while to really get into the story. Once it really gets going though you'll be left wanting more. I will say if you decide to go on Nox and Charli's journey be prepared for a commitment as this is a 5 part story.

Oh, oh, oh....

This is the first book in a series and it's a cliffhanger BUT it's totally worth it because this is a insanely good book and I want to read the next NOW!!!

The storyline is great and I suspect the twists in this series will have me hanging on to every word.

The feelings between the characters are well described with lots of emotions.

I bought whisper sync with this book and the narrators is good so I enjoyed both listening and reading. Before I was quite finished I bought the other four books so I'm jumping right in to the next.

5 shiny stars ✨

Woman heir...comes with obligations

Alexandria grew up in Georgia living in Montague Manor. Montague Manor had its hierarchy and it didn't matter that Adelaide and Alexandria were the only true Montagues.
Alexandria counted down the days until she left for California where she would attend Stanford. She wanted a new life away from the Montague obligations. Nothing ever changed in Savannah or around Montague Manor. She was tired of people telling her what to do with her future, what to become, and how well she would do.
Being raised in Savannah came with different expectations for woman. Adelaide raised Alexandria to accept her role beneath a man allowing the man to rule the house. Adelaide taught Alexandria to be a good daughter and marry a man suitable to the Montague name stating “Montague women aren't meant for jobs. We're meant for carrying on the name.”
When she returned to Georgia after graduating Stanford it wasn’t a happy return. Savannah was a stagnant town that stunted her as a woman. She couldn’t wait to leave for New York where she would spend the next three years studying law at Columbia.
Before she returned to Savannah her and a friend went to Del Mar for a week where she met Nox. Nox and Alex made a conscious effort to limit the information they shared. They worked to stay away from their backstories and agreed to live in the here and now. For one week she wanted to forget about her prestigious name and live her own life not as Miss Alexandria Charles Montague Collins, but as Charli. Nox taught Charli how to tap into her erotic side by removing all her inhibitions. She was to relax and trust that Nox could make her feel alive through sex.

Trope: sex with a stranger, female heir, romance

Overall:
Infidelity is a five-book series with each book consisting of some very graphic sex scenes. The book centers around this hierarchy of male power and wealth in a stagnant town.
As the reader alternates between the past and the present we learn about how Alexandria becomes Alex. Although, I couldn’t wrap my head around the difference between the past and the six weeks earlier chapters.
Southern Georgia hospitality with its glowing charm of wealth and power had me gagging. I loved Alex’s fierce determination to face her parents with deviance. Although, reading about all these expectations had me stressed out. Alex’s life was too stressful. The pressures from her parents was frustrating. I’m so tired of these backward traditions where parents plan out their children’s lives. I must say I loved Alex’s passion and fire. Her defiance was commendable.
Aleatha saved the best for last with her introduction of Infidelity. Basically book 1 set the backstory about Alex’s circumstances leading her to a new life. If I’d known this is where the story was headed I would’ve had set my expectations differently. I wasn’t all that impressed by book 1, but I am looking forward to book 2 and reading more about Nox.

Narrators:
Samantha Prescott is a veteran audiobook narrator with a penchant for steamy romance novels. A classically trained theater artist, she can be seen in numerous feature films and television commercials.
Brian Pallino is a highly sought-after narrator of contemporary adult and romance books. He has voiced series for multiple award-winning authors. With a versatile range, Brian is a storyteller who strives to bring books to life and move his listeners. While his scenes were limited to a few chapters at the end he was a marvelous performer.
The audiobook far exceeded my expectations. I actually preferred the audiobook over the ebook. I read this book prior to owning the audiobook at which time I rated it three stars. Listening to these narrators perform these characters enhanced my reading experience. While the three star rating still applies to the story the audiobook deserves five stars.

Voice

she sounds as if she was an older woman. It would have been better for the voice to sound younger than the voice used.

Betrayal

I absolutely loved Aleatha's Consequences series and had no doubt that her Infidelity series would not disappoint. At first I could only read one chapter at a time because my mind was constantly anticipating what she had plotted out for Charli & Nox. My mind has been forever scarred by Tony. But a wise woman told me that Nox was NOTHING like Tony. She was right. He is the complete opposite. Once I got on a roll I could not put it down. I know it's been written before by the author but the title isn't as black & white as assumed. I was very happy to find out all 5 books are going to be about Charli & Nox. They spent one week together. No last names, no strings but that isn't enough. I can't wait to find out more about the things left unsaid about her family and what lies in Nox's past as well as their future together.

- "...since the first moment I saw you, I've made exceptions. I've done and said things that I do not, as a rule, do. You do that to me. You make me rebel even against myself."
