About this listen

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Red Rising thrilled listeners and announced the presence of a talented new author. Golden Son changed the game and took the story of Darrow to the next level. Now comes the exhilarating next chapter in the Red Rising Saga: Morning Star.

Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music!

Darrow would have lived in peace, but his enemies brought him war. The Gold overlords demanded his obedience, hanged his wife, and enslaved his people. But Darrow is determined to fight back. Risking everything to transform himself and breach Gold society, Darrow has battled to survive the cutthroat rivalries that breed Society’s mightiest warriors, climbed the ranks, and waited patiently to unleash the revolution that will tear the hierarchy apart from within.

Finally, the time has come.

But devotion to honor and hunger for vengeance run deep on both sides. Darrow and his comrades-in-arms face powerful enemies without scruple or mercy. Among them are some Darrow once considered friends. To win, Darrow will need to inspire those shackled in darkness to break their chains, unmake the world their cruel masters have built, and claim a destiny too long denied—and too glorious to surrender.

Performed by Stewart Crank, Jenna Sharpe, Kay Eluvian, Jon Vertullo, John Kielty, Julie-Ann Elliott, Karen Novak, Jeff Baker, Nhea Durrosseau, Andrew James Spooner, Andy Brownstein, Andy Clemence, Bradley Foster Smith, Colleen Delany, Danny Gavigan, Elena Anderson, Ian Putnam, Ken Jackson, Kimberly Gilbert, Laura C. Favorite of the series (Parts 1 & 2)

Truly the edge of the story! Golden son and Morning star are my favorites due to the established characters, world, fighting and downright intensive relations between all characters (outward and inwardly). I would love the physical copies to
these books and to read them after listening. This series keeps on delivering and the cast? They have excellent chemistry with one another and the characters of their role to where you truly feel enmeshed in their universe. I also like the narrator of the non-dramatized adaptations but Darrow here feels even more rich and complicated than truly given credit, along with the others.
A talented cast presented with a fantastic piece of literature that allows them to flex their skills and for this and the other books to feel electric. I’m excited for the other recordings to come for the next two installments in this overall series and for similar works. Thanks for this enjoyable ride!

Not the actual book

I purchased this version by mistake.at first I was annoyed, I generally read the book and use the audio in my long drives for work. I was upset it not a reading of the book. Having said that it was still a great story and I enjoyed it.

Simply Superb!

This is the greatest graphic audio book series I have listened to so far. The voice acting, the music, the effects -brilliant. The graphic audiobooks elevates the books. Well worth the credits spent.

What A Book!!

Wow was this such an incredible listen! Riveting start, riveting finish and everything in between was just fantastic. I couldn’t stop listening. There’s a part where a speech was being given and it made me wanna cheer with them and kick some Gold A$! One of the best reads I’ve had in a while. Such a fantastic book and trilogy! I hope the sequels live up to the standard. Fantastic cast performances too!

well made

loved everything besides the actor they picked for romulus au Ra, he is pretty much the opposite of the description. Also Viriginia cries every line she has. Great actor for romulus but not the one for the role in my opinion.

Wow amazing!

This entire series was awesome and this part 2 of 2 of the last book wrapped things up beautifully. The characters of this series have such depth and growth. You see them over years as people start out as classmates and competitors, grow to be friends, and then enter into the real world of politics and power and choose their sides. I would briefly summarize this trilogy as class warfare in space. It had twists and turns that I didn’t even expect, which was a wonderful surprise for it not to be predictable. There are a lot of historical societies and mythologies the book draws from. The voice actors and actresses did an excellent job as well, skillfully capturing the emotions of each character. This series has it all: action, warfare, friendships, romance, tragedy, betrayal, redemption. I felt a little bit like I was reading a futuristic French Revolution of sorts but that’s an oversimplification. The details of the ships, planets, clothing, etc. were well described. This series is now one of my favorites and I highly recommend!
