In A Most Unsuitable Man, Damaris Myddleton has plenty of money - but she is looking for a husband with a title who will lead her into the welcoming arms of the aristocracy. Despite her quest for respectability, she keeps noticing her attraction to Mr. Octavius Fitzroger, a penniless man with no prospects who agrees to help Damaris find just the right spouse.

Cute

There's plenty of believable personal growth, without stewing In immature angst.
There's communication, cooperation, community, and grown-up love along with passion.
Everything to love. Thanks again, Jo!
I enjoyed this narrator as well, plenty of emoting without being strident. Yay!
A favorite regency & romance

Would you try another book from Jo Beverley and/or Jenny Sterlin?
I am not sure if I would try another book by the author, but the narrator was good. What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
The ending was okay, but I didn't care about it, as the heroine turned me off. She was selfish, didn't think about a thing she said or who it could hurt and she came across as very needy. I kept checking the time remaining on the audio and was really surprised that I had 30 minutes left and still did not warm up to Damaris. This is a first for me to dislike a smart decisive heroine, but she was lacking in warmth and charm. What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
The performance was good. I think that this narrator is okay, but not in my top 5. I would never choose a book just because she was the narrator, unlike I do with some of my favourites. What would have made this romance irresistible?
The character of the heroine needed a lot of development. She was aware that she let her mouth run away with her, but did nothing to try and change it. She did not act in a way that saved the people around her, from getting. hurt.Toward the end, she makes a disparaging comment about the hero's sister Libby and how awful she looks. This is just after the sister told the hero that their older brother was coming to kill him. This may have been the cause of the sister's stress. The heroine is also very pushy and coupled with her wealth, makes her seem obnoxious.
Any additional comments?
This was a nice idea for a romance. Especially with the role reversal of the woman having influence, power and money. If the heroine was likeable, the listener would be cheering for her. This was a shame as it started out in a way that led me to believe there would be a moment of epiphany that would make me like the heroine, but it never came.really didn't like the heroine
