Publisher's summary

Acclaimed author D. M. Quincy is back with a second captivating mystery as adventurer Atlas Catesby must put aside his own feelings for Lady Lilliana as they work together to get justice for someone she holds dear.

Aristocratic adventurer Atlas Catesby has spent the last year trying to forget Lady Lilliana Warwick, but when she reappears in his life imploring him to help her solve a murder, Atlas feels compelled to say yes.

The ner're-do-well brother of Lilliana's maid died of arsenic poisoning. Authorities are ruling his death an accident, but his sister suspects he was murdered. As Atlas and Lilliana investigate, they discover that the victim had a mysterious lover - a high-born lady he threatened with scandal after she spurned him. When they finally uncover her shocking true identity, the case blows wide open, and it turns out there is a whole string of women who had reason to kill the handsome charmer. Now, as Atlas fights his growing feelings for Lilliana, they must work together to catch the assassin before the killer gets to them first.

Felt Like a Movie

What fun! Matthew Lloyd Davies' narration of this story makes it truly like watching a play or a movie. The story just comes to life with all it's characters, twists and turns. Enjoyed it thoroughly and highly recommend listening to the book if you can!

Obsessed

I have an hour drive to/from work. Rather than listening to music/radio I listen to audio books. Murder In Mayfair and Murder In Bloomsburg are fantastic! Superb writing/storyline and narration is top notch! I listen to these stories and then start over at the beginning (on my fourth round)!! There are not many audio books that are like that for me. I wish audio books had the same set up as Kindle; download book, read book, download a new one and return an old one. Anyway, this series is in my top three favorites!

#2 in this series

Great mystery! I love the development of relationships and descriptions of their surroundings. This story is about poisoning and the multiple uses of arsenic. Who knew?

Another excellent chapter in solving crime and in courting protocols of early 1800s London society.

This is the 2nd in this series and is another excellent story. Life in a social structure like that of London in the early 1800s juxtaposed against crime solving challenges and abominable laws made for a very interesting and educational read. Can’t wait to begin the 3rd edition.

Kept me guessing the whole book.

I loved this seriously and highly recommend it. My only complaint is that the ending could’ve gone into more detail. Spoiler alert........ I wanted to hear more about how the “couple” ends up together. Other than that I loved it.

Cliffhanger

I loved the story overall. I did not like that it seemed to take forever to get to finding the culprit or culprits. I also did not appreciate the ending...I will have to wait for the next installment.

Another success! Great second in series!

The narrator is perfect in reading and intonation. The story flows from one book into the second. I was convinced Elizabeth’s betrothed had both killed the cad AND attempted to kill her family to gain the business! The story neatly comes to its conclusion. I can’t wait to listen to the next in series!
