Publisher's summary

Nurse Amy Leatheran had never felt the lure of the "mysterious East", but she nonetheless accepts an assignment at Hassanieh, an ancient site deep in the Iraqi desert, to care for the wife of a celebrated archaeologist. Mrs Leidner is suffering bizarre visions and nervous terror.

"I'm afraid of being killed!" she admits to her nurse. Her terror, unfortunately, is anything but unfounded, and Nurse Leatheran is soon enough without a patient.

The world's greatest detective happens to be in the vicinity, however: having concluded an assignment in Syria, and curious about the dig at Hassanieh, Hercule Poirot arrives in time to lead a murder investigation that will tax even his remarkable powers - and in a part of the world that has seen more than its share of misadventure and foul play.

Excellent

One of Agatha Christie's very clever works. Really enjoyable novel in an exotic eastern setting.

Amazing story, but fantastic narration

This has been one of my favorite Agatha Christie books. The narration took some getting used to, but the story was worth it.

Narration is Dreadful

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The Narrator.

Would you be willing to try another book from Agatha Christie? Why or why not?

I have finished 14 already. Loved them all.

Would you be willing to try another one of Anna Massey’s performances?

Absolutely Not.

Was Murder in Mesopotamia worth the listening time?

I barely could finish because of the dreadful narrator.

Any additional comments?

So disappointed. Where was Hugh Fraser?

Meh

Great classic Poirot story from a somewhat unique angle but painful narration. Voices all so nasal and embarrassing accents.

Narrative is Horrible

I am a Hercule Poirot fan! And All the Narrator's manage to capture the character and take you on the journey. Although I am sure this Narrator's good at most stories her performance of Poirot was Horrible! I'm so sorry, but she ruined the story and Poirot she couldn't convince. I couldn't get pass that!

Good story, narrator Belgian/German issues

Classic Christie! Only concerned about narrator's representation of Poirot, she occasionally slipped into German accent.

On the whole, enjoyed it.

While this is one of my favorite Christie book, I didn’t enjoy the voice of Poirot by the narrator. It was really annoying. She did great on the other characters. My favorite narrator is Hugh Fraser. He’s amazing.

Really Difficult to Listen To

Boy oh boy the narration is rough on this one. Find it somewhere else if possible.
