A Dream Property

Carpenter Whitney Whitaker, her cousin Buck, and guard-cat Sawdust just scored a hot property near downtown Nashville in a tax sale. While the Music City Motor Court might not be much to look at now, the two plan to transform the motel's 12 units into six one-bedroom condominiums with popular mid-century styling. But surprises await when Whitney discovers a squatter living in Room Nine and Sawdust uncovers a body in the bed next door.

A Living Nightmare

The murder victim is none other than Beckett Morgan, an up-and-coming country-western singing sensation who's taken Nashville by storm with his number-one hit "Party in the Pasture". Beckett's left a long trail of broken promises and broken hearts, and the list of suspects seems endless. So does the line of female fans intent on halting the flip and turning the construction site into a shrine for the deceased star. If Whitney and Buck don't help Detective Collin Flynn nail the killer, they'll never be able to clear out the star-obsessed groupies, complete the remodel, and recoup their investment. But just who silenced the singer and why?

The Irony of a Feel Good Cozy.

How can a murder investigation be upbeat? That’s the secret of a great cozy and Kelly excels at the spin. She takes the reader through a intricate investigation by presenting a variety of interesting suspects, a trail of clues, and a delightful cast of good guys. Then, there are the cats. Afterall, every good sleuth needs a furry sidekick.

Had grown intelligent educated people who can get the job done without profanities! I Love the story. the closeness of friends and families. We get to hear how the pets feel and think! Hard work and helping others made their dreams come true!! PLEASE WRITE MORE LIKE THIS!!!

Pretty good mystery.

I liked this story and it was a good listen; however, it would have been much better with Sophie Amoss as narrator!

Difficult to finish, skipped to the last 2 chapters.

There was to much information about construction and flipping and Nashville. Storyline needed more substance. Cat is cute, but giving him chapters was a little much. The narrator is easy to listen too, which was a plus.

It's starting to sound too cute

Throughout the entire book, I am trying to figure out how you stab someone with a boing-y door stopper and have the boing-y part stick out of his chest. One end is a flat bracket for screwing onto the floor or the wall, the other end is a rubbery stopper on a spring. It never did make sense. Nor was it explained how and why this instrument was used when the deceased was already dead.

The other thing that bugged me throughout was the cat commenting that her tool box was making "jingle jangle" noises. As if she had jewelry in it instead of hammers and wrenches. Too cute.

The cat scenes didn't bother me in the first two books, but they do now. They add nothing to the crime or its solution, and really don't add to the story either. She can have a cat, and everyone in the book can love cats, just quit with the inane cat thoughts.

It gets harder and harder to swallow that the police detective shares so much with her, and that he allows her to do the investigating that she does. It is a blessing to the world, but not to us, that her internal ruminations are not vocalized. But for us, we get to hear every trite, wild, or obvious idea she has. I had to stop and listen to two blood and gore special forces books before I could finish this.

And I don't think her 1950's color schemes are really going to stick. People may think it's cute when they buy and move in, but they will soon repaint the pink, turquoise, and green into greige and cream. I am happy, though, that they made a killing on this flipper.
