About this listen

From the New York Times best-selling author of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and The Last Summer (of You and Me) comes an imaginative, inspired, magical book - a love story that lasts more than a lifetime.

Daniel has spent centuries falling in love with the same girl. Life after life, crossing continents and dynasties, he and Sophia (despite her changing name and form) have been drawn together - and he remembers it all. Daniel has "the memory", the ability to recall past lives and recognize souls of those he's previously known. It is a gift and a curse. For all the times that he and Sophia have been drawn together throughout history, they have also been torn painfully, fatally, apart. A love always too short.

Interwoven through Sophia and Daniel's unfolding present-day relationship are glimpses of their expansive history together.

From 552 Asia Minor to 1918 England and 1972 Virginia, the two souls share a long and sometimes torturous path of seeking each other time and time again. But just when young Sophia (now "Lucy" in the present) finally begins to awaken to the secret of their shared past, to understand the true reason for the strength of their attraction, the mysterious force that has always torn them apart reappears. Ultimately, they must come to understand what stands in the way of their love if they are ever to spend a lifetime together.

A magical, suspenseful, heartbreaking story of true love, My Name is Memory proves the power and endurance of a union that was meant to be.

DONT READ UNTIL THE SEQUEL COMES OUT!!!

I am one of those readers that enjoys a little cliffhanger at the end of a book if there is going to be a sequel(s). However, when I bought this book, I did not realize it was going to be a series. The story is great and I love the whole idea, but the ending really threw me off. I went to the authors website to see when the planned sequel was going to be released and there is nothing! She mentions wanting to write book 2 but there are no plans to right now. You have got to be kidding me!! The ending was the worst cliffhanger I have ever read and there is no planned sequel?!?!? No way lady...My advice to all listeners is pass this one by, wait for the "not planned" sequel first because this book has no ending. I would never have listened to it if I knew it ended like this!

Intriguing Premise

I loved the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants books. This is totally different. The idea of living through multiple lives and taking the memory of your previous lives with you and your love for the one true love through the centuries until you get it right was pretty good. I don't believe in reincarnation, but it made a good vehicle for the story. Characters were pretty good and the book definitely kept me engaged. The ending was very abrupt, but now I guess the story will continue. It was good, not amazing, but good.

Great Story!

This is a great book, and I hope there is a sequel! It was hard to put down. It's one of those books you want all of your friends to read so they can share the experience. A bit of an emotional teaser.

Good

I enjoyed the story so much that when it ended I was crushed! The ending felt unfinished, incomplete. I hope there's a sequel in the works. It would be very cool to get Joaquin's side of the story or even Ben's.

Sequel Please

This book was such a great read. It's well written. The characters are well devolved and there is a great romance. The narrators were awesome too. It was an adventure to read. Just what I was looking for! It is just lacking one thing...a sequel.

I wanted to love this book..

I liked it, I guess. I wanted to love it considering it’s written on a fascinating concept. I feel like the plot had so much potential, but it just fell flat for me. Daniel’s character I liked, but I found myself agitated with Lucy towards the end. I liked her much better as Constance.

The whole book was just chasing and chasing, and once there didn’t need to be chasing, it was a quick “resolve.” I’d read a sequel just to find out how they ended up because the end was trash. After reading what I’ve written, I guess I didn’t like it. Lol.
