About this listen

My new neighbor is a total tool

He hated me from the second he laid eyes on me, and I don't have the first clue why.... But, if he wants to hate me, I'm happy to give him a few reasons: mowing the lawn at dawn on the weekend, leaving garbage cans in front of his driveway, renting a petting zoo for my backyard...making a list of ways to drive him crazy is half the fun.

He deserves it with the way he's driving me crazy right back without even trying - walking around without a shirt on, sweaty rippling muscles on full display, well-worn denim jeans perfectly molded to his...well, you get the idea.

My point is, if he wants a war, I'll give him one.

Nailed is an enemies to lovers, neighbors who can't stand each other, omg the anger banging, drool worthy, low angst story, which happens to be the second in my Four Bears Construction Series. It CAN be listened to as a standalone. There are NO shifters in this series, only the OTHER kind of bears.

just plain fun

Stone is a pain in the butt on purpose to his grumpy neighbor Dare pretty much from day one all from a simple misunderstanding. once these two get real and start getting to know each other get ready for all the snark and not so gentle play. it's a fun wild ride from start to finish.

Enjoyed reading… loved listening!

Really enjoyed the book, but I tend to speed read, and listening to this book was more enjoyable. Felt like I actually got to know the characters in a different way. K.M.Neuhold did an amazing job and Tim Paige and Liam DiCosimo really brought Darr and Stone and life. On to book 3.

Funny and Sweet

I really enjoyed the story of Dare and Stone. The pranks that Stone pulled were laugh out loud funny and Dare’s reactions were just as comical. The love that the two men had for animals made them even more endearing. The only drawback that I had while listening to this book was the narrator who voiced stone when he had to do Dare’s voice made him sound like a bad Clint Eastwood knock off. It was somewhat distracting. I was glad he wasn’t the one that actually did all of Dare’s dialogue and thoughts. Otherwise the narration from both gentlemen was outstanding.

My favorite couple

I loved this story so very much! One of my very favorites and I’ve reread many times already. We get to witness these two next door neighbors first aggravate each other (Dare’s fault for the initial miscommunication/jump to wrong conclusion which prompts Stone to retaliate by aggravating Dare every chance) then reluctantly having actual communication, and fall slowly but deeply in love. Dare’s fantastic dog Rudy who Stone has the best relationship with, steals the show and is such a great character himself. This is so well written, and I can’t say enough about how much I have enjoyed this again and again.
The narration, however, is such a disappointment for this. Dare and Stone have very badass conversations the whole book, and neither narrator sound even remotely like I’d imagine. And it’s more like they’re cold reading this than actually portraying the characters. Dry, shallow. (My other favorite book from this author is “Screwed” - sooo good! - and these same two narrators kinda ruined that audio illusion also) They’re both ok and are probably good on other stories, but unfortunately for me I’ll stick to rereading these two books and not listening to them. Not the right narrators for these books in my opinion.

Loved it, funny and endearing

4 Blue Roses
4 Blue Flames

Narrators Tim Paige and Liam DiCosimo are on a roll. Their delivery of book two of the Four Bears Construction was again very enjoyable. They continue to compliment each other by highlighting the personalities of each character. Their lighthearted performance and pleasing cadences created a wonderful gay romantic comedy.

Stone can’t stop himself pranking his grumpy new next-door neighbor. Dare tries his best to be nasty and push people away, but the harder he tries, the more he attracts them like flies. The plot is very endearing and although it is funny, I still found the guys pulling on my heartstrings. They are all soft marshmallow on the inside, and their love for dogs is the sweetest thing ever. They are very serious about their canines.

Once the two got over their neighborly war, the clothes start flying and all bets are off. They are just all kinds of hotness together. I can’t wait to hear the next book in this series.

I definitely recommend this audiobook. It is fun and it lightens a somber mood.

Happy Listening

Nailed It!

Here’s the gist my review in one line: This book is freaking fantastic and you NEED to read or listen to it. “Nailed” is the second book in K.M. Neuhold's “Four Bears Construction” series. It can be read as a standalone, but the characters crossover so you may want to read the first book, "Caulky", before this.

“Nailed” centers around Stone, one of the owners of Four Bear Construction, and Dare, the owner of a motorcycle repair shop. Grumpy, growly Dare has hated funny, ornery Stone since Stone moved in next door. Stone, not knowing why Dare hates him, has made it his mission to be the worst neighbor possible. Thanks to Dare’s adorable dog (Rudy, who totally steals the show throughout the book), the two end up interacting a bit more, and confrontations turn into the steamiest funny/angry sex scenes ever (filthy butter sex. ‘Nuff said.) And of course, hate progresses to love, and you get your HEA.

The characters are hilarious and real, and their love story progressed nicely with no angst. This book made me literally laugh out SO many times! The dialogue was sharp, the side characters added to the story without taking over (with the exception of the adorable dogs. And the underwear eating goat.) The narrators did a terrific job. The pacing was just right, and both got into their characters well, there was never a point where I felt they were reading a book to me. The only thing I didn’t care for was the way Stone’s narrator did his vocals for Dare’s dialogue. Dare was described multiple times as having a husky, growly voice, and that’s what he did, but it made my throat hurt in sympathy. But that being said, it wasn’t bad enough to dock any stars or stop listening (I’ve definitely heard worse.) I would definitely listen to these two narrators again. I love all of K.M. Neuhold’s works, and can’t wait for Ev and Ollie’s stories!

Side note, I was given a free copy of this audiobook by the author, but was not asked to provide a review in return. I just liked it so much I had to give my feedback anyway!

Another great book in this series. I love how low the drama and high the connection is in this book. These guys have awesome chemistry, you just can't help falling in love with their love story. Oh and hello boys and dogs...I am completely swooning.
Can't wait for more on Audible.

The narration was great, I am so excited to see new narrators in the MM genre.
