Turn the page!

I really enjoyed listening to this book about techniques and ideas on how to best work with and understand my learning style. Depending on the situation, I can be a visual, audio and/or tactical learner and I loved the idea of just turning the page when I’m stuck!! Sometimes I will read paragraphs over and over and I find myself easily distracted when I’m not fully engaged in what I’m reading - then I get stuck and frustrated. One example or permission in this book was simply to turn the page and move on - get past it and just continue along. Anyone familiar with records would move the needle and continue listening! Really helpful analogies to get myself off the hook and continue moving forward.

I also enjoyed learning about my Ayurveda style and how to use this to my advantage. Having a routine where I schedule my focus time has been a game changer. I’m mostly Kapha/Pitta dominant but I also have Vata tendencies- I know evening is not the best time for me to study because of my Kapha state but to balance this, I find that studying during Vata time - a balancer of Kapha, I have more focus and retention and so I schedule time for my studies in the morning after my meditation and yoga sadhana when I’m feeling bright eyed and bushy-tailed and ready to learn!

There’s a lot of good tips and neuro hacks in this book that anyone can use and apply in their own studies by incorporating them into a lifestyle that will help nibble away at getting things accomplished. There’s a saying of “well begun is half done” and the book gives good action tips on how to work towards and complete goals.

An enjoyable, easy listen. I’m going to recommend this book to my friends who have kids in high school that are struggling with their studies- I’m sure they will get some good nuggets to help their kids learn and succeed. Cheers to better quality learning and goal achievement!
