About this listen

From the New York Times best-selling author of the Cowboys and Angels series comes an intricate romance that asks the question: Can love heal the pain of the past?

Longing to forget the pain of his wife’s death, Brock Shaw has immersed himself in the one thing that lets him escape the guilt. Bull riding. But life on the road means leaving his young son at home with his parents. They want him to give up his career and be a father to his child, but Brock needs the adrenaline to get through each day…or so he thinks.

Lincoln Pratt needs a fresh start. As a top interior designer in Atlanta, she has everything she could ever want, but she’s always at her father’s mercy. Something’s missing, and Lincoln knows she’ll only find it somewhere far away - like the rolling pastures of Hamilton, Montana, where she meets the irresistibly mysterious Brock.

In Brock Shaw, Lincoln sees the part of her that’s missing. In Lincoln Pratt, Brock sees the part of himself he thought he’d lost. But the pain of his past binds him. Can he let himself love again?

OK but…...

OK, spoiler alert before you read this review. I like the writing but why do her heroines always get pregnant using contraception. Seriously every single time. I’ve read countless books by her where they get pregnant while using condoms, birth control, or both. Why? Just why

HOT PBR single dad!!

Kelly Elliot you have done it again. Beautifully narrated characters wrapped up in a storyline that I could not stop listening to and that will stay with me until the next book in the series is released. Brock Shaw, PBR Bull Rider, widower and father of a young boy matched up with Lincoln Pratt, interior designer and in a position to start over far away from her take over parents. What starts off as a hatred, turns into lust which then moves onto love but not without loads of hurdles and chemistry that leaps off the page. Perfect second change romance thrown together with a single dad. A perfect combination. Alexander Cendese was the perfect Brock!!

such a sweet small town story

Brock & Lincoln: Brock is a single father and a bull rider. he recently sold his home that he lived in with his wife before she passed. now he spends all his time on the road while his family takes care of his son. Lincoln is an interior designer who just bought the house that Brock sold. she gets along with everyone in his family, except him. but he can't deny there's something about her. the two slowly try to tolerate each other and start saying but Brock is dealing with a lot of grief and regret. can they make things work? only time will tell. I really enjoyed this book it was really very sweet.

Never Enough

This is the first one I have listened to by this author and it will not be the last. Brock Shaw is a pro bull rider and has sold his home to an interior decorator and the first time he sees her he is lost. Good thing she feels the same. Lincoln has moved to Montana to start a new life and set down roots and after getting to know the little guy next door and now his dad she is lost. Will they be able to get past all the ghosts in his past? This was a great book, not much substance but a great story. I'm looking forward to the next book.

great series and I enjoyed Gabrielle's narration

I love that I'm reading/listening to this series out of order! I've read the kids books first and now I get all the adults books.

Brock and Lincoln are one of my favorite "parents " and this book gave me all the feels.. ALL OF THEM! And seriously... how darn cute is lil Blayze?????

Kelly just knows how to write the best small town romances and pull readers into her book worlds to the point I wish I was family member!

Listened to this one with Alexander Cendese and Gabrielle Cendese. Gabrielle does a fantastic job narrating Lincoln!

3.5 ⭐️ VERY sweet book

This book is EXTREMELY sweet but it’s a nice, happy story. The characters could’ve used a bit more development and transitional development.
The plot and dialogue was a little too sweet...kind of like a high school girl’s daydream but it was a nice, happy story. I’ll definitely listen to the next in series.
The thing that very nearly ruined the entire thing was the horrible narration. Both narrators were just slightly better than amateur... but only slightly. They were both so overly dramatic and put so much emphasis on words and phrases in order to impress upon the listener the importance of the sentiment of the scene. Kind of like an infomercial host trying to sell you something you really don’t need. It took me out of the book completely. It was hard to finish the book because I practically sprained my eyeballs from all the eyerolls.
Also, the male’s female voices were cringeworthy. Same for the female’s male voices. Just awful.
I’ll listen to other books by this author because I enjoyed her story and dialogue...but only because the narrators are different. If they were the same, I wouldn’t even consider it.
It’s too bad these narrators were chosen for this. They’re terrible.

Cute Small Town Romance with Bull Rider Single Dad

3.75🌟

This was a very cute small town romance with a Bull riding single dad and a city girl coming to a small town.
The writing style was easy to follow, but some of the plot lines of this story didn't totally work for me.
Also, both narrators bordered so close to annoying to me.

I am going to continue the series and I already checked book 2s narrators and they are different!

Have Patience

After purchasing this book I checked the reviews and saw a lot of negative ones in regards to the narration. I always take reviews with a grain of salt so I dived in anyway. Holy cow that first chapter was a rude awakening. I think the male narrator needed more work and guidance on his portrayal of Stella because at first he made her sound like Molly Weasley. Since I loved the second book in this series so much I decided to just push through it, it's not his fault if he can't manipulate his voice enough to sound feminine. I will say it was easier to listen to chapters narrated by the female though someone should have caught the fact that she kept calling Kaylee, Kylie which was annoying. It's a shame all of this could create such a distraction from the story because I enjoyed the story a lot! Now I'm going to relisten to the second book before I begin on the 3rd for Tanner's story. These are great stories that create a nice escape from reality. Looking forward to enjoying more of this author's books.

Summer Reading

I rarely read romances. My usual reads are histories, mysteries and thrillers. However after reading this romance I learned two things. one is the difference between rodeos and top professional bull riding. The other thing is that this 81 year old midwestern great-grandmother could have a thing for cowboys!

Seriously...listen to this! Very well done!

I loved this so much I got it to listen to over and over again! (Originally I used KU) The story just makes me want to hug it. The characters are fun, flirty and interesting. I love that she just up and went to Montana for a job. Very daring! Then there is the whole bull riding thing (cowboys and bulls=hot guys). I loved Brock! He is on the edge but slowly works his way down with Lincoln around. Blaze! I think I love this kid! He adds a lot to the story and every scene with him in it almost got stolen.

Then there is the amazing family of Brocks! Each one I enjoy getting to know. Brothers and their bickering and interfering make this fun. Friends (Dirk and Kaylee) made me laugh so much. I also had some serious moments involving Dirk.

Overall this is one story I can listen to over and over. If you couldn’t guess did listen to this on audio. Alexander Cendese and Gabrielle Cendese really did a wonderful job on this. Plus every time they spoke as Blaze? I couldn’t stop smiling. They added the enthusiasm and joy of this little boy into their voices.

Next please! Ty and Kaylee!!!
