About this listen

Country music god Beau Mason has just announced his retirement from the business at age 30, and I've just scored the interview of a lifetime. My network is flying me to Kentucky for his final interview, and at his request I'll be spending a few days with him at his ranch.

I should be thrilled. But I'm not.

Beau and I have a history, and I haven't seen him since he obliterated my heart at the tender age of 18. I don't think I can do this. I don't think I can see him again. But I don't have a choice. My career...my promotion...my dignity. Everything rests on this one interview with the man who turns me into liquid desire and corded steel resentment all at the same time.

It's just a few days, right? What's the worst that could happen?

Please note: This is a stand-alone full-length romance novel with no cliff-hanger. Contains a dominating alpha male hero and scenes of a sexual nature. Please be 18+. You do not have to listen to Never Kiss a Stranger first, though it is based on a secondary character from that story and may contain minor spoilers.

This second chance love story between Dakota and Beau was worth the credit and the time. There were some twists and not quite as much heartache or angst as I expected (and secretly love), but it was sweet!

Sweet-less angst than i expected

Spoilers----------------

I thought until the end the H was maybe a decent guy, but he knew. He KNEW. He was in love but decided to go and screw around with tons of girls when we was touring. He got the message she was pregnant but thought she was trying to rekindle the relationship. He was in love with her, he said. Seriously?! Then check in, see each other, respond to her calls. He came back after he partied and slept around for years. So selfish. And he knew she had his baby and he didn't reach out then to make sure she was fine? What an ass.

Not my kind of story

I think overall i liked this one so it's more like a 3.5 than it is an actual three. I actually loved the hero but I think the story was just more predictable than the book before it in this series. Never kiss a stranger I LOVED! But this one can be a hit or miss if you're expecting twists and turns!

Second chance romance

I was hoping it would be better. I feel like the author is very talented at using poetic imagery. However there is a point where my mind would because it was just too much. The base of the story was okay, not totally unoriginal. I just feel like maybe the author tried to hard for a story that really did not have a lot of layers. None of the “secrets” were really all that shocking to me. Overall, it was okay. Not worth an audible credit, but was fine for a free read. The narrators were not great all. I was very annoyed with both at certain points.

It was okay

I enjoyed this story. The h, after all she went through, made it easy for the H to come back to her. Yeah he said all the right things but she really didn't make him work for her heartbreak. The performance was good. I gave it a five but that doesn't mean they were great. The accent was distracting, the timeline as well. The story was told in past and present and sometimes, fourteen years later, eleven years later and not mentioned if it was present or past. At times, I got lost. The secret that the h kept took entire story before the H find out. All in all, I would recommend, especially this was part of Audible

Enjoyed it

I really liked this book all the way through. The build up towards the end was great but then I found myself being disappointed in the ending. It was anti-climactic. I was waiting for things to happen but they never did.....disappointed.

Loved this but the ending was a disappointment
