Publisher's summary

She’s crept back into the home she lost. He’s crept into her heart.

Sophie Russell was once society’s darling. But after the disgrace and death of her father, she now finds all doors firmly shut to her - including those of her family home. To discover the secrets now hidden within its beloved walls, she’ll pose as a cook and spy on the estate’s new owner, a broodingly handsome viscount, who may have schemed against the Russells. Instead of dishing up the truth, the viscount tempts Sophie with delicacies of his own…

Viscount Griffiths suspects that there is more to his new cook than meets the eye - especially since it was a mistress he hired sight unseen, not a cook. With the hope that her passion in the kitchen will extend to his bedchamber, he humors the beautiful interloper. But when that passion burns to brightest love, revelations may shake both of their wary hearts…

The final sensuous book in the Scandal at the House of Russell trilogy will lay the truth bare.

Anne Stuart is the best romance writer there is!!

I love Anne Stuart's writing style!! Her style is very unique from many authors. She uses the shortest sentence, or one word, to convey so much meaning. There is no unnecessary long words or long sentence to explain something simple. Every word, every sentence, have a purpose and I like that in a writer. It shows REAL TALENT. Very rare. Not many authors can write like this.

Now, with that being said, I loved this book. The misunderstanding and the back and forth banter/innuendo between Sophie and Alexander is hilarious.

I also love Xe Sands as a Narrator. She truely is gifted in voices, the ability to switch seamlessly between male and female voices was amazing, she pauses just at the right moment, her pronunciation was perfect, her reading time was perfect, Xe Sands is very gifted indeed. Very skilled in her craft. I am impressed.

The only criticism that I could think of was toward the ending of the story when Sophie knew Rufus (Alexander's step brother) was no good, all her intuitions, her instincts were giving her warning bells, red flags, yet Sophie went up with him to the rooftop anyway and no surprised there that he tried to kill her. That part of the story was frustrating and I had to roll my eyes so hard because it's ridiculous.

But the overall story was good. I laughed out loud a few times at the sublime cooking innuendos. Lmao
The verbal back and forth between Hero and Heroine was very intelligent yet hilarious. Lol

The banter was quick witted, funny, just overall fantastic writing.

I give this Anne Stuart book a FIVE STAR rating. Narration from Xe Sands also a FIVE STAR rating.

All 3 Were Great!! Must Read!

Really great Narration was wonderful and I enjoyed all 3 audiobooks. Can be listened to as stand alone but better if started from Book 1. They tie together well. Keeps you guessing until the end.

Steamy series finale

This was by far the steamiest book in the series. The romance between the youngest of The Russell sisters, Sophie and Viscount Alexander was intense to say the least. I thoroughly enjoyed her sisters Maddy and Byrony making an appearance in this final book of the series with their respective partners. The answer to the mystery behind their father's murder and other murders was an added plus.

My favorite book in the series!

yes still too much time is spent talking about what is going on in the main character's head but beyond that the book was excellent. I loved the story and found myself drawn to the book. The mistaken identity and conversations leading to her getting deflowered by the lord were hilarious. One was talking about food while the other thought the conversations were about sex and how she could satisfy his "every need". Clever story and sweet ending.

I can’t put this book down.

This was the third in a trilogy. Although each sister infiltrated the house of a sworn enemy, posing as a servant, the story line is wonderful and full of surprises. The Viscount’s personality is spicy. His sparing with Sophie is hilarious. I enjoyed this book from cover to cover. I would definitely recommend it to read.

Excellent

Together, Stuart and Sands make a magical team.

God gave to these two with both hands. I hope the collaboration continues.

Saved the Best For Last

I loved the character of Sophie. She grew with the story but was true to her character. Alexander the hero is also a fun character. My favorite person in all the books is the butler in this one. I wish there was a longer ending. However all the loose ends are wrapped up in this book.
