Publisher's summary

Take one wizard - that's me - add a hot female vampire, give them a nice place in the country and what do you get? Paradise. Heaven on earth.

So, of course, someone decided to go spoil it. No, it wasn't me, not this time.

The Hidden world is in chaos, and apparently I'm the one that's supposed to deal with it!

Smart trolls, even smarter vampires - and not the nice ones like Kate - witches on the rampage, inebriated gremlins, and imps intent on causing nuclear Armageddon, they have all combined to ruin my perfect life. I'm not even going to mention the chicken.

Well, I'm Faz Pound.... Okay, you know the rest by now! If they want trouble I'll give it to them.

Honest, I just want to live a quiet life. Although, you know, not too quiet.

Witty, Entertaining and Imaginative. A must read!

“The Black Spark is back. He feels so good he talks about himself in third person.”

Spark and Kate have been enjoying life in their little home in the country for nine months. Now Rikka has a job for him and … Black Spark is back to work, he has been reborn and is stronger than ever. Rikka has a new accountant and wants Spark’s opinion. The new account, a troll, depose the previous accountant.

Now we have trolls changing the landscape of the Hiddens to give humanity the best possible chance of survival. But trolls really? Can they really the culprit?

In the haste to solve the troll situation, all species began to have issues and need help right now. To many things are happening, which could precipitate disaster for the whole country not just Rikka’s ward of Cardiff.

Zombies are stumbling around attempting to bite humans. They are normally on a reservation. Therefore, Spark is pulled in that direction to contain that situation. What does he find? A troll. There are rumblings pointing to the complicity of witches and gremlins began to speak with eloquence. Through it all Spark questions his haste to return to work and worries about Kate.

Lives are hanging in the balance and Spark must solve the tangled web of deceit and confront the true source of the death and destruction. He is the enforcer and it is his job to keep the peace as Rikka sees it.

From the opening scenes (do not let the evil chicken fool you) to the closing word, this book is fast paced and full of twists and surprises. Each interaction with a friend or foe expands the reader’s enjoyment in the world of the Hidden.

The voice of Gildart Jackson delivers the dialogue of Line in the self-deprecating manner, which brings the comfort with the familiarity of an old friend.

This is a series, which must be read in order. Many of the relationships and actions of the characters are based on interaction in the previous novels. Unlike many authors, Line has given us characters and a world that expands in depth and breadth with each new novel. He is a consummate writer. His writing does not have the banal, predictable story lines with the prerequisite double entendres. His dialogue is witty, entertaining, and imaginative. Enjoy New Spark.

The story isn’t really bad.

I love the series but the books keep on getting shorter and feeling like there’s more and more filler. I don’t know if I will keep going unless there is a sale.
