About this listen

Act 2 - A Will to Pleasure follows the Colonel as he seeks pleasure in the heart of the wild Comanche empire, turned thriving Texas Hill Country, turned desolate and violent and ruthless once more. A harsh landscape and a society without technology, laws, or base human agreements to guide us. Here in the New West, three lives intertwine in a quest for meaning, pleasure, and power.

This one had the same good stuff about act 1 (good pacing, narration, characters, world building) but is even grittier, higher stakes, and I can see where some of the characters are developing towards. Good mix of story elements keeps it fresh and moving forward.

Definitely a recommend, heading into act 3 now 🤙

Even better than act 1

It flows perfectly from Act 1. The characters and story continue to excite. Does not disappoint. I’m excited for Act 3.

Act 2 is even better

The first novela drew me in, and the second smacked me in the face with pure evil. The story continues, and we meet "the colonel." He's a cunning, cruel, all-around awful human being, yet I find myself wanting more of him. Is that wrong? Every line he delivers is so well-crafted, so perfectly twisted. I'm genuinely scared of him, but I believe in Caroline as she gets stronger. No spoilers here, but suffice it to say novela #2 is a page-turner as the plot thickens.

A Delightfully Sinister Sequel
