About this listen

At an academy attended by witches, shifters, and vampires, one student's bloodline will be their salvation...or a curse.

I've always suffered with weird visions, but nobody paid attention to my wild imagination. Not until I tried to change a future I'd seen, and a student ended up in the hospital. The school expelled me, and my parents were distraught, so my aunt offered to pay for one that could help with my "issues".

My world turned upside down when I stepped into the exclusive academy.

I expected to meet other troubled teens here, but none seem unusual. Ash is the rugby team captain and the academy's most popular guy. Then there's Andrei, the moody guy with a bad attitude who takes pleasure in annoying me. And Jamie, who's studious and friendly but intense. The only strange thing is most classes take place in the evening, and those in the "advanced program" study late at night.

With the help of my new friend Amelia, I feel at home and think I have the academy figured out. But on the evening I swear allegiance to my new school house, everything spins out of control, and I realize I'm dealing with more.

Much more.

The students and professors aren't human—I'm at an academy with vampires, witches, and shifters.

My visions of the future are real because I'm a witch.

How do I tell my new friends that one of us will die, and I know who?

Term One is the first in the Nightworld Academy series of upper YA and NA supernatural academy books and was an Amazon Top 100 in store best seller. The main characters are 18 and older, and this is a slow-burn why choose. As the series is set at a school in England, the books are written in British English.

Scroll up to start this gripping new series filled with magic, mystery, and romance from USA Today best-selling author LJ Swallow.

Good story, so so MC

I really enjoyed they story. The plot progression was on point for me, and the narration was great. Loved the sub characters and the slow burn. The main character has some great aspects but also some things that made feel “eh” about her. There were moments where she seemed a bit whiny or immature but some of those parts made you feel her emotions on a relatable level too. Over all I would give this book a try. The story is good enough to ignore the minor annoyances for. I was given my copy for an unbiased review.

Great start to a new academy series

Great start to a new series! I loved Maeve. I loved that the author made her reactions realistic. She didn’t just accept everything. She questioned and learned her own way. I liked that. I also really liked all the characters. I am looking forward to the next book

The narration was fantastic. I loved the voices the narrators gave the characters.!

The narration was great, however the story could have used more development. Next book possible.

Paranormal’s galore

This book is set in a paranormal world. Lots of witches and shifters and vampires promise lots of adventure’s and action. Good strong characters and a fantastic storyline. Sarah and Steve give life to these characters very well.

Ready for term two

My husband & I listened to this during our work commute. It's always great to find books we care listen to & discuss together.

Aside from a few minor inconsistencies, we felt the story was good. Enjoyable supernatural YA. Not predictable, although no real surprises either. We're hoping term 2 ramps things up a bit.

The narrators were great - so much so that my husband thought there were more than 2 voice actors. Sometimes multiple characters can blend into similar voices, but not here.

New author to me but fantastic

This book was great. I loved Maeve and the fact that she wanted to try and do good with her visions even though she didn't fully understand them. Following along in her journey of her finding out what she is to honing in on her powers to working with others to develop her powers, helped you relate emotionally to the character. I have to say, the narrators did an amazing job as well. I can't wait for Term 2.

Term 1

I enjoyed the world building. The narration was really good and I thought it did well in bringing the story to life.

The book starts a bit slow and the main character is annoying at times. The story did pick up momentum and I think Term 2 will be interesting.

A fair start

So I’m interested to see where this series goes. It has some feel like the House of Night series as well as others along these lines. I’m ready to start the second book. This is one of those that I’m reading to see if it gets drastically better or stays in that middle not bad, not great area.

Another perfect addition to my favorite academy re

Oh but I enjoyed this one, really.

I whispersynced this audio to my ebook and I had the best reading and listening experience!

The story was slow burn, yes, but that's how I feel like it should be. Make it a little believable. The heroine was thrown into a whole new world for her, making her the new girl in a school were dangers and the darks of the nights lurks and prey.

Meeting the guys and slowly building something with them is a perfect route for the story. It makes you feel the heroine's frustrations and struggles and confusions.

I'm sure in the next installment, a new development and new plot growth will happen.

I can't wait!

A Great Slow Burn Paranormal RH

I enjoyed getting to know all of the characters and their differences . You can't really do that in a Insta love story . The narration was also wonderful . I can't wait to see Meave grow more mature and powerful . I just saw no reason for Meave to not tell anyone about her vision when she found out it is normal for them .

I received this arc copy for free a honest and unbiased review
