About this listen

He loves me; he loves me not....

Angela

I love flowers. Being a botanist has always been my dream, but life got in the way—and, nowadays, I have a job at the flower shop near my crummy apartment. So that's something, right? Maybe it's not in the best neighborhood, but it's a bright spot in a dirty city, and at least there are usually cops around.

I've noticed one in particular lately, keeping an eye on the shop. Officer Mason Burns. I'm friendly enough—though I can't bring myself to trust anyone in a uniform after what happened to me a couple of years ago—and that ends up working in my favor when I'm attacked for the shop's deposit one night.

Burns comes to my rescue, arresting the would-be robber with the knife, and I'm super grateful for his help.

I'm a lot less grateful when I end up in handcuffs the next time we meet...or when he brings me home with him to be his prisoner.

Burns

On the surface, I’m a hero—but that’s the surface. The truth is that I'm a bad man. A possessive man with my own sense of right and wrong, and of justice. I've never pretended to be anything else, either. I do what I want...take what I want...and they let me because I have a badge.

I also have handcuffs and a gun, but they're not my only weapons. When it comes to Angela Havers, my best one is a deceptively charming smile.

She thought I was going to save her. That's where she was wrong. My obsession with the sweet little florist might have saved me—but it will be her undoing.

Unless she gives in to me, body and soul. Because my angel is mine...and no one has to know.

This is a dark romance—including stalking and captivity—and is written for adults. It has mature themes and language, and a hero who thinks he knows exactly what the heroine wants...and if she doesn't, she eventually will.

slow read

Slow read and almost to much inner dialogue. If straight smut is what you are looking for the descriptions will satisfy your need.

Awful narration

Honestly it's hard for me to discern if the story was bad, or if the narration was just so terrible that it made it seem worse than it was.

Bad narration kills

The male narrator was tolerable. The female narrator was so very bad. Her female character sounded like a cheerleader, and jeez her male voice made him sound like a sleazy used car salesman. And why did she make him talk so slow?

I don’t even know how to rate the story because the narration was just THAT bad.

Amateurish

I don’t know if it was the writing, the horrible narration or a bit of both but I won’t be listening to any other books in the series.

A bit cringe and narration was okay

STORY
The story caught my attention because I wanted to find a short dark romance. This met my expectation but just that. It was a decent read and helped me find something different to read between books. It was quite cringey but i pushed through. I am usually good with stalker romance but this was felt so cringe and borderline too much that i couldn't rate this higher.

Officer Mason Burns
He is a obsessed and completely protective of the Female Main Character(FMC). He wanted to do everything to get Angela to be with him while also getting her to give him a "shot". -

Angela
She has some past trauma that makes her not open up to others but she is extremely attracted to Officer Burns. Although her past trauma makes me very wary of police officers.

Not a good one

The book itself is poorly written. it's merely a play by play instead of a book. There is no substance.
the two narrators sound silly and not serious which the book is trying to be. Just not a good combination. The book might be better if it had better narrators.

Not what was expected

This is not a true kidnapped / captive read. Yes, shes kidnapped and held captive but it was almost instant love and the way Serena Moon spoke made it sound like she was completely on board the entire time if not more so. Only finished it cause I spent a credit on it.

Meh

I really wanted to like it. I love a good Stockholm syndrome story. This was awkward and forced and laughable at the attempt made to create the situation. The audible performances were just as bad. It was like someone reading a phone book. The man’s voice was comically growly when not needed and made me lose sight of what he was even saying. I tried switching to just reading it but that didn’t help. This is just a miss for me.

interesting story

I thought it was a decent book but I did struggle with a narration. I don't know. it's truly struggled with a narration and how she portrayed the guy and why was he only like in the first two chapters and then nothing else?

Horrible narrators

Another good book ruined by horrible narrators. I hate the virtual narrators, but I honestly think I would prefer it to both these narrators.
I have the book on my Kindle. I'll read it to salvage my opinion of this book.
