About this listen

Ex-cop and PI Robert Hoskins knows some cases are tougher than others, especially when dark magic is involved. A call from the local pack master about some missing weres is more than it seems. Portals to the underworld have opened, and ancient creatures long thought dead have returned. As a fae, Robert's faced off with demons before but always as the hunter, never the prey.

What magic force has opened the portals, and why is it travelling through the hells of the underworld releasing demons in its wake? Robert needs old friends and new allies to find out. But knowing what the problem is won't be enough. He has to find a way to stop it, making this his most difficult case of all.

From the author of Return of the High Fae, and Of Gods and Fae, this is book four in the Vegas Fae Stories.

Best in the series so far!

I've really been enjoying this series all over again after downloading the audio books. I read them originally when first released but wanted to refresh my memory before reading the latest story. I have to say I like them more in audio format! The Narrator does a great job and really brings the story and characters to life. The series is an interesting and original combination of genres. It's a very light hearted read even given some of the serious situations the characters find themselves in. This is one of the reasons I've really enjoyed it. It would be fun to see the stories converted to a Netflix series!

Another great read!

I found this book very interesting. Since I do audio, I listened all day while I worked. If you like this genre you will enjoy this book.

Excellent as Always

I think the Robert Hoskins stories are getting better and better. This is my second pass through these books and I again can't stop myself from going from one to another without pause.

I've shared these with my brother too and we spend hours discussing them. I admit I'm one book ahead of him so I need watch what I give away.

Tom Keller is one of my very favorite authors. And so I now go to book 5 in the series for a second time.

Just the Facts Mam Just the Facts

That is how this book feels. Just the facts, no depth and descriptions that lack texture. Just a report. Missing is tension and suspense. I like listening to series and generally find that with each new book the writer's story telling improves but that isn't the case with Mr. Keller. In his stories he reports about Robert's adventures but we don't really get to experience them. If you like stories where the good guys always come out on top and you aren't concerned with character development and depth you may enjoy this series. I like richer character development, tension, suspense, and story telling vs reporting.

Problem with the audio on this book

The sound of this book goes in and out. A lot of times it sounds like it’s in a hole or missing a channel or something. Every once in a while it will come in fine and then it goes back out. It seems extremely bad with Bluetooth. I’ve tried several different headsets it’s the same on all of them. I have over 500 books on audible and this is only the second one with problems with audio.
