About this listen

Notorious serial killer Brenda Nevins has cajoled, seduced, blackmailed, and left a trail of bodies all across Washington State. Now, after a daring prison escape, she is free to carry out her ultimate act of revenge. The targets: forensic pathologist Birdy Waterman and sheriff's detective Kendall Stark. The pawn: a television psychic hungry for fame, ratings, and blood. There's only way to stop a killer as brutal, brilliant, and twisted as this: beat her at her own game.

It takes SO long to get to the whole story, classic Gregg Olsen, but this one did not pull me in, I feel a little lost and hanging at the end of a rope.

Not Full Potential

As always, Olsen wrote another mail biter! I loved this book! Another great listen! It kept me on my toes and guessing what was going to happen until the end with all the twists and turns.

Keeps you hanging on until the end!

This femme fatale is annoying. Not a horrible story, but not the best. I have been around women that would put her to shame.

The killer isn't convincing

Good story. However, I was disappointed in the ending. It left a lot of unfinished parts of the story. I guess that is so one can conclude their own ending. It kept my interest peaked as it were many twists and turns throughout. JS

another great book by Gregg Olsen.

I love the first book in the series, but this book was above amazing! Having followed Kendall Stark in the first book, you get to love her and birdie Waterman. living here in the Puget Northwest, I can actually visualize the places described in the book and it sucks you right in and you feel like you're apart of the book and the people. this wasn't just another day for Kitsap County coroner that's for sure! Bravo Gregg!!!

Such a good story! Loved it and the reader did a great job making this story come to life.

Great

Great continuation of the Birdy story and bringing in additional character stories to watch again

A taste of evil

If somebody is looking for a list of the most cliché, retrograde "evil women" tropes/stereotypes, they can find them all as characters in this book (the bad mother, the evil temptress, the manipulator who "makes" men do bad things, the career woman who emasculates her husband just because she has a decent job...#eyeroll). To top it all off, the narrator is a man who for some reason decided to make all the women in the book (most characters are women) sound like little girls throwing tantrums... I would not read/listen to this author/narrator again.

Female characters are sexist tropes come to life

I am a big fan of Gregg Olsen's books. I don't know what happened with this one. Couldn't get into the story. I do not recommend this one.

Not for Me

I listened to 6 chapters and gave up. Couldn’t get into it at all, so slow moving and BOOOORING. I don’t know why they have a male narrator for a book with mostly female characters. The narrator for this book just drones on & on… blah blah blah blaaaaahhhh. I found it next to impossible to follow which character is which, find interest in any character, or to follow the story in general. The story was not AT ALL interesting to me. I’ve really liked other books by this author, but give this one a hard pass. Hate it when I buy a book and can’t stand to listen to it. Would NOT recommend. Did I mention how incredibly BORING this is?? Ugh.

Bored me to death, couldn’t keep going
