About this listen

"This brutally romantic mafia love story will grip you!" #1 New York Times bestselling author Helen Hardt

Arranged marriage, age-gap, mafia/cartel romance

Capo to the Luciano Famiglia was my birthright.
The cruelty needed to succeed in this life has been beaten into me since I was a young boy. My father, Vincent Luciano, taught by example and with the slap of his hand. My independent streak took me down paths my father would never have gone. With our enemies gaining strength, it is my idea to attempt an alliance with an unlikely bedfellow.
The Roríguez Cartel and the Luciano Famiglia are improbable partners, yet even Vincent Luciano can’t deny the possible benefits. The only way to solidify the deal is for me to marry Catalina Ruiz, the eldest daughter of Andres Ruiz, a top lieutenant in the Roríguez Cartel.
Catalina is young, beautiful, and thinks she understands the path she is being forced to follow. There is no way for her to know the monster she is about to wed. A man doesn’t become a made man at thirteen if he is capable of love. That emotion is beyond my scope of expertise. Saving the famiglia is my goal. And once this alliance is made, ours will be but the first of the brutal vows exchanged.

Devoured this audiobook!

I had the opportunity to listen to the audiobook of Now and Forever by Aleatha Romig and I truly enjoyed it. This is book one in her Brutal Vows series and gives us a mafia romance with a bit of romantic suspense, marriage of convenience and forced proximity and I was there for all of it! Catalina, a daughter of The Rodriguez Cartel, and Dario, the next Capo of the Luciano Famiglia are to be married to unite the families and create a strong alliance. Narrated by Gabriel Spires and Ruby Corazon, they truly brought Dario and Catalina’s story to life for me and I devoured it. I listened to this in one day.

Catalina has just finished college and is ready to start her life when her life is turned upside down. She is told she must marry for the cartel. Are her dreams over? I loved Catalina. She was strong, smart and caring. She does not want this, but she must do what is demanded. Dario realizes it’s time to marry and he has chosen Catalina. He believes they will be a good match. He is determined, reserved and ruthless, but if you belong to him, he will do anything to protect you and he does. Their journey is not easy, as there are enemies on both sides who do not want this alliance to work. Can they stand together? I loved both characters so much and am excited to read more of this series!

Happy listening!

Catalina and Dario

Aleatha Romig is a master of captivating readers and taking us into worlds we wish were real so we could witness the story!

Catalina and Dario are in an arranged marriage to help both families. Dario is not in this for love or the white picket fence with 2.5 children. He has a mafia to run and he needs to bring the cartel and mafia together to do just that.

Catalina's family is in the cartel and she is aware of the dangers and what happens in the cartel. She understand the significance of marrying Dario and understood this was just the business. She never imagined what would take place between them.

This story was breathtakingly outstanding with the ins and outs of their worlds, the imminent danger, and the love that begins to grow. The connection between these two is great. I can not wait to get into the next book. This story is only going to get better.

Amazing and surprising

I truly enjoyed this narration in duet form. These individuals really breathed a lot of life into this story. Having read the book first I loved the added depth this audio version brought to the book.

not bad

it was okay. needed more action. the plot was very flat and one dimension. the mfc was not annoying, which was a plus. both leads were good and communicated well. the book was good but it could have been better. it did have a hea.
