Publisher's summary

To the world, I no longer exist. The life I live occurs outside the third dimension - a memory, a ghost, the boogeyman, or perhaps simply a figment of the imagination. When I’m passed on the street, there is no connection. No eye contact. I’m the one whose presence leaves a cold chill of uncertainty, quickly erased by minds who don’t want to acknowledge that men like me exist. On the dark web, I’m known as Kader, and for the right price, I will do what others can’t or won’t.

I’ve learned to exist within the hard shell I’ve created - until I see her. Laurel Carlson. Her blue eyes see beyond my impenetrable exterior. Her sensual lips long to be kissed and her hidden curves caressed. My mind is obsessed and my body ignited. Though I exist outside her comfort zone, I must enter her world, take the chance, and learn what it is about this beautiful, intelligent, and marked woman that has me entranced - before her time is up.

From New York Times best-selling author Aleatha Romig comes her most dangerous anti-hero yet, set in the dark and dangerous underworld of the Sparrow Webs. You do not need to read the Web of Sin or Web of Desire trilogies to get caught in this intriguing romantic suspense saga, Tangled Web.

Twisted is book one of the Tangled Web trilogy which continues in Obsessed and concludes in Bound.

Too slow at the beginning

Is tipped a few chapters in- just too slow. Maybe it picked up? But not for me. The narrators are great.

Very different plot and storyline⭐🔥🔥⭐⭐

Big big fan of Jacob Morgan but listeners there's a cliffhanger. I don't mind them and this one has me intrigued
and wanting more. I selected this because of Jacob. His character is dark..he's great at those. I will continue the series and won't give away any more spoilers other than to say to me he doesn't narrate enough of the chapters but when he does he's good. So I am looking forward to the next book because of the intrigue and storyline. The narration by both Charlotte and Jacob is good but I admit I'm a tad partial to Jacob. I cant help it. He's so darn sexy!!

A great start to this dark & twisted tale!

Twisted is the first book in the Tangled Web series. It is fast paced and dark and filled with lots of secrets and unknown threats. The cliffhanger ending will leave you screaming for more. This was my first time reading this author and I’m hooked.

Confused

Every time the MC malfunctioned due to the cheesy situations and lines from the MacGyver wanna-be hero I was confused. Wondering if this was a comedy. The hero is only intriguing because he some secretive mysterious dude with gadgets he has to hook on her bra for it to work properly. I wanted to like this due do the popularity...but i just don't see it.

I can't get enough of Jacob Morgan

First of all, I'll listen to just about anything with Jacob Morgan narrating it and when you throw in Aleatha Romig's original writing style it's a no brainer. But just be ready for lots of twists and unanswered questions! Having read other books by Aleatha Romig I kind of knew that I wouldn't get any resolution with just this one book. What I like about her books are that the characters and the story line evolves over the course of the series.

What the ÷@#"

This book was very suspenseful in a ended so abruptly. I think the writer could have had a little bit more back story to the book seem like it's just jump right into it.

To continue or DNF...

I knew going in that this was part of a trilogy so the cliffhanger wasn't surprising. What I didn't expect was how bored I was by the story. I usually connect right away with her books and get invested but am very ambivalent so far. The female lead is excruciatingly naive and I am at a loss for some of her decisions. This is supposed to be some genius scientist, but she let's strangers into her home, has opportunities for escape but passes them up to masturbate, I'm just kind of flabbergasted lol. I pushed through to the end, but don't know if I really want to continue.

Full of suspense

This is an interesting romantic suspense. It leaves you with some questions though. Kader piqued my curiosity. While I felt I could relate to Laurel. Great characters, intense story, I need the next book.

Great to listen to on a road trip

Aleatha is a solid writer. She continously delivers well thought-out plots, dynamic characters, and twists. That said, the bar was set high for me from her Consequences series, which I considered a brilliant emotional rollercoaster. Twisted is great, just lacks the extra omph that her previous writing had. That said, I'm on to book 2, Obsessed. I'm hoping this one laid the groundwork for much more in the next book.
