About this listen

No one knows what happened the night Echo Emerson went from popular girl with jock boyfriend to gossiped-about outsider with "freaky" scars on her arms. Even Echo can't remember the whole truth of that horrible night. All she knows is that she wants everything to go back to normal.

But when Noah Hutchins, the smoking-hot, girl-using loner in the black leather jacket, explodes into her life with his tough attitude and surprising understanding, Echo's world shifts in ways she could never have imagined. They should have nothing in common. And with the secrets they both keep, being together is pretty much impossible.

Yet the crazy attraction between them refuses to go away. And Echo has to ask herself just how far they can push the limits and what she'll risk for the one guy who might teach her how to love again.

The narrator was awesome!

It's rarely that I listen to a book and feel like I am so much better off than if I would've just read it. In this case, the narrator of Pushing the Limits took it from an entertaining YA read to a quite emotional experience. There were parts when I actually cried, and it was all due to the narrator's touching delivery. The story was good. It's not light and fluffy, but it's definitely worth reading.

Good story

I liked the book however I feel it was a bit too long. I really liked Noah and Echo and loved seeing how they fell for each other, it was very sweet. I can say that I completely disliked her father and Ashley. I think they were both so self centered and never considered her feelings and I kind of wished she severed ties with them in the end after she learned the truth of the accident. But I do see the need for forgiveness so I was ok with the way it turned out.

Noah’s situation broke my heart because all he wanted was his family. And again I was so upset with his brothers foster parents. He just wanted to be with his brothers and it made me cry. Again I like how it ended and I was hoping that it came to that.

Like is said it’s a good read

Love Personified....

What made the experience of listening to Pushing the Limits the most enjoyable?

The agony of Echo about her past, and that of Noah about his little brothers. Also Echo's grief about her brother's death.

What did you like best about this story?

The absence of sex (there was heavy making out), and I did not even notice. That shows how absorbed I was in this story.

What about MacLeod Andrews and Tara Sands ’s performance did you like?

They conveyed the emotions of the H and h so vividly.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes, Noah's situation made me cry.

I couldn't stop

This book is not easy to read. The things Echo and Noa deall with are hard, but the way they actualy came into their own was harder. It was hard to see echo starting to remember that night. It was hard to see her relationship with Ashley, the owman who was a mother to her almost until she marryed her father. Noa did some great things. He was really good at heart. I loved him and Echo together. They were not the usual tipe. They really loved each other. This is more than being in love. Noa's treatmont of his brother was indearing. I tiink the sistam has to learn something from this book. The carichtors were believeable. I loved it! I recommend it for people with strong heart! I cryed a lot, and laughed quite a few times.

This book was verry good. I loved the narrators and how they worked together. The book has a lot of mental thrills and a tun of unexpected twists. Throw in some wonderful romance and i was hooked. You really begin to care about the caaractors. I really hope this Author comes back with more to read in the world of audio.

Fantastic read!

Would you consider the audio edition of Pushing the Limits to be better than the print version?

Not necessarily better, but I do like hearing two different voices for the two narrators. Definitely adds to the experience.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Loved both the protagonists! Both seemed very human and very real--made bad choices, but most of them were for good reasons. They grew throughout the novel, and overcame amazing odds.

Which character – as performed by MacLeod Andrews and Tara Sands – was your favorite?

Loved them both. Really, I couldn't choose.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

How can you look forward to the future when you can't get over your past?

Any additional comments?

I definitely recommend this audio version. It was very well done.

Touching teen romance with suspenseful drama

As a mother of teenagers I like to read young adult novels, and Pushing the Limits kept me riveted and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire book, couldn't put it down. The back and forth narration format allowed me to connect strongly with both Echo and Noah, and watching them help and heal each other in the context of their family issues was satisfying.

There were times I found Tara Sand's voice a bit grating at times, but her pacing and emotion would soon sink me back into the story. She sounded a lot like Kat Denning to me. MacLeod Andrews never disappoints when voicing young, male characters and his portrayal of Noah was sufficiently sexy yet vulnerable and even had me wiping away a tear at the end. The soothing, yet angsty timbre of his voice was a perfect complement to Tara Sand's Echo.

I would definitely recommend this book to both adults and young adults, as it combined a sufficiently realistic high school feel with mystery (what happened to Echo), heart wrenching drama (Noah's need for his family) and flashes of humor as the story unfolded.

An Emotional Rollercoaster Ride - Great Story!

What did you love best about Pushing the Limits?

The story was very well written....very emotional - both the writing and performances. I can't say enough about this book. I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook from start to finish. I had a hard time putting it down.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Pushing the Limits?

The most memorable moment in the book was when Noah met up with his brothers at the fountain around the homes his parents had built for Habitat for Humanity and he was invited home for lunch with them. Noah finally got to know the boys foster parents and finally understood how much the boy's foster parents loved them and cared for them and perhaps THEY were what was best for his brothers.

What does MacLeod Andrews and Tara Sands bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

MacLeod Andrews and Tara Sands did such a wonderful job with this book. You could hear the emotions in their voices. The emotion brought life to the book. I have never enjoyed an audiobook like this one. Between the story and their narration - I was hooked from the time I hit play.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

My tag line would be exactly as the review on the front of the book. This book IS a riveting and emotional ride. I chuckled at times and I cried at times. I even sobbed through a couple of chapters.
