About this listen

Opposites attract in this sizzling, feel-good, grumpy sunshine romance about a lively illustrator and the brooding billionaire she literally falls for.

Eleanor Lark is an upbeat illustrator plagued by headaches and unruly strawberry blonde hair. After a grueling cross-country flight, she blacks out cold. The brooding stranger who sat next to her grumping his way through the flight catches Elle as she falls. Neither expects the sweet chaos that happens next.

August Marshall is stonehearted, insanely rich, and a master of corporate cleanups with major baggage of his own. The last man alive who needs a media frenzy after his airport heroics steal headlines. But August has a plan—ask Elle to marry him so their trouble disappears.

Elle almost faints again. They just met! But it’s hard to say no when August tells her she might be the key to saving a children’s book series she adores. And it’s even harder to remember it’s only pretend as sparks fly, hearts fall, and two perfect strangers try to remember life before make-believe…

This male narrator is the worst! His attempt to do the female voices is awful and so distracting!

This story has a few important supporting characters throughout the story. The two main characters are completely different yet the same and have one major thing in common from their childhood.
we all know that young people can be cruel when it comes to other children who are different. Different can mean that they don't fit in with the majority and lead a very lonely existence and it stays with them throughout life.
August, grew up with his aunt after his parents died and Elenor grew up with her grandmother when her parents took off around the world for business.
They both met on a flight and by chance due to a medical emergency August, even though upset about it. got stuck helping El out. Being a rich Single Billionaire his help caused a problem for him. So if you want to find out how he was able to stabilize the situation either listen or read their story. The twist toward the end will be a lesson for all in the story!!!1

How to be loved and excepted for who you are!!

August & Elle: Elle is surprised to find the "hot jet guy" as she has named him in her mind, has shown up on her doorstep with a proposal. I mean they just met a few hours ago and he wasn't exactly nice. August, a surly billionaire is coming home to deal with his aunt's company which she built after the huge success of her children's books. When he's found in a picture carrying a fainted woman out of the airport, the drama begins. So he's got a proposal for the woman in question... Pretend to be my fiance while he's dealing with the company mess and be sort of a buffer to clean his image as "the black widow". This book will take you on a ride for sure through all of your emotions as the two find themselves becoming closer and almost pretend.

a good story with a good plot twist.

The narration by both was fine until the male narrator was doing Elle's parts.
it was so annoying with him doing her so singsongy, with her words drawn out a lot of the time.
it made Elle so irritating at times.

Too long! I love the storyline and it definitely was a plot twist with forbidden love, but honestly it didn’t have to drag on and on like that!

Good but…

I enjoyed the story. But I had to skip thru parts of the chapter with the male narrator, especially when he narrated the female parts. I liked the female narrator much more.

Story was interesting but hated the male narrator.

I appreciated the tasteful way the social norms in the past that so negatively affected gay community was woven into the story. So, while the story was a fun escape…that begins with a “meet cute”; it also reminds the reader that society is capable of making positive changes. Love is Love. ❤️

A GREAT ESCAPE
