Publisher's summary

He shouldn’t want his best friend’s fiancé...

After waking up from a four year long coma, so much has changed around Pedro. His best friend sacrificed his life to save their unit. And Pedro can’t understand how Jason’s omega fiancé, Charlie, seems to be over the loss. To make things complicated, the more time Pedro spends around Charlie, the more he sees what Jason loved about him. But would it be a betrayal of his best friend to claim Charlie for himself?

Charlie is ready to live again...

Charlie has spent four devastating years lamenting the death of his alpha fiancé, but he’s learned how to handle his heartache and he knows it’s time to move on. So, when newly awakened Pedro insists on consoling him over his loss, he’s done. He’s worked hard to heal, and he won’t let anyone drag him back down. But it quickly becomes clear that there’s more to Pedro than meets the eye and as attraction blooms between himself and the wounded alpha, he wonders if he’s ready to love again.

Pedro and Charlie might be at different places in their grieving, but they both have wounds that no one else can see. And as these friends become closer, they find comfort in one another. But an unexpected complication will make them question just what they want together. Are they ready to move forward, or are their hearts forever trapped in the past?

Roommates to lovers

This book was very interesting because the omega was having a breakthrough of living again and the alpha he chose had so many problems with waking up from a coma after being hurt in battle. Decided to live with his best friend who didn’t make it Omega. Their was a little angst on what happened on the battlefield. But it had a happily ever after ending. With learning to love again.

laughs, tears, love

It was so sweet seeing Pedro come to life, while trying to get a handle on all the life changes coming his and Charlie's way. Overprotective families are the absolute best!!! I loved seeing the two help heal each other's wounds with love. Loved the secondary characters . Great ending. The narrator did a great job. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this story and am giving an honest review.

Great story

Well, this one was more focused on the romance than the mystery about the tainted pills, which was a little bit disappointing.

But the romance between Pedro and Charlie is nice and sweet. Both characters are very interesting, and I love Pedro and his family :D

A very fascinating point in this story is the difference between Pedro and Charlie's perception about the time they both had to grieve over Jason. Pedro's four years in a coma let him feeling his friend's death is a fresh wound, but Charlie is ready to move on.

The consequences from Pedro's wounds and coma are also an interesting plot point, and another way to show that the damages made by war are long-lasting,

Bill Burrows does a good job with the narration.

heartwarming

Would I listen to it again: yes
Did the story keep me engaged: yes
Was I invested in the characters: yes

Story comment: well written story dealing with loss that has been lightened with some humor, Pedro and Charlie are likeable, well written characters and the story flows nicely.

Bill Burrows has done a good job of Omega's Secret Heartache. He's given the characters their own voices and the inflections and intonations all work to bring the characters and story to life.

Sweet Addition

I really think this was my favorite of the series, so sweet/bittersweet heartbreaking and hopeful. Charlie and Pedros journeys were really lovely to see develop, it's pretty low angst and the relationship develops in a good way I liked that they didn't keep harping on the so called "wrongs" of it. It really moved along nicely. The narration is ok but I do think Burrows Voice was a little old for the characters but it's not bad.
