Publisher's summary

Enter an addictive world of sizzlingly hot paranormal romance . . .

..................

She's the one thing he can't control . . .

Since Keenan's traumatic childhood he's made sure he's always in control. Of himself, and of the world around him. But Khloe drives him crazy. She's an imp, so getting under people's skin is basically her job description, but Khloe makes him - and his body - respond in ways he's never known.

Keenan is the mistake Khloe knows she shouldn't make. As an incubus, he's got an inside track into everything that makes her tick, and even though she's immune to his supernatural sex appeal, that doesn't stop her body - and her demon - craving him.

After a bet escalates the simmering tension between them it's finally game on . . . and then the game turns deadly serious. When a danger appears that could threaten the whole lair, Keenan's desperate to protect Khloe any way he can - but will she accept his claim, and can he accept the power she has over him?

most audio issues solved.

This is my second listen and there were only 2 areas of audio issues; one repeated line and one spot towards the end where the speaker crackles for a couple seconds but other than that I think they must have fixed the audio issues other reviewers mentioned. I can't even say for sure the speaker crackling wasn't caused from my actual speakers vs the recording.

Now onto the book! I was looking forward to seeing how Chloe and Keenan's story would unfold. It's amazing! Full of Chloe's wit, humor, and loyalty along with Keenan's reluctant acceptance of her shenanigans, fierce protective and possessive nature, and as always a great overarching story of some bad guys trying to cause some serious issues. It''s worth the read and/or listen!

Good story, issues with the audio recording

There was a segment in this audiobook that had the narrator speaking to someone and then it went back and repeated an earlier read section.

Excellent

I love this story BUT chapters 18 & 19 need editing. Please check it out. It’s the end of 18 and the beginning of 19.

Horrible voices

Cat Doucette made the main characters voices sound so annoying! It was hard to get into the book do to this! Please pick another narrator for the next books!🙏🏾

Definitely worth a credit!

I like all the characters in the Dark series and this is a great new addition. Baby Asher is really surprising and I can't wait to see what other powers he has. I thought the paranormal fight scenes in this book were great with hell fire being thrown all around. Bring on the next couple and keep the action coming!

The usual mixed bag of awesome and horrible

I think i like the Dark in You series the best of Suzanne Wright's books. Mostly cause while their is still some of her weird over the top cartoonish pettiness when it comes to other women, it's not as bad cause she has more interesting plot points to work with. Kloe is an absolute hoot of a character, and Kenan is pretty cool too, if you ignore the fact that Kloe said no to sex twice and he completely ignored her. I DID find the reason for his reluctance to enter a relationship with Kloe to be an interesting one, as well as enjoyed how he and Kloe worked out their issues. I have said before and i will say it here, While i don't agree with all the plot points Ms. wright does with her relationships, I fucking LOVE that the males in her series are always supporters and never obstacles even when the heroine does things they don't like. The "alpha" male never spends chapters yelling and punishing those they claim to love for their decisions. Lol well at least outside the bedroom anyways.
There was one thing that i really didn't like about this book. It's a bit of a spoiler so beware. I was really really REALLY put off when at some point, Jolene and kenan seemed to want to kill a four year old child for something that was not his fault. The line is "Thea and her son need to die tonight" with kenan giving an emphatic "yes." I'm not going to lie i thought i heard it wrong i had to listen to it twice more before i accepted that yeah that was what they said. Honestly i thought about kiting the book right then and there. There is a lot i can ignore or forgive in a book but rooting for child murderers, regardless of the reason, is just not in me. But i told myself i would see where this went. And at the end i'm not sure what to think. It sort of worked out, if you ignore a child being severely violated, as being a good thing. Not to mention i am pretty sure that the violation is the only reason he wasn't murdered. which leaves a somewhat bad taste in my mouth.
On a much lighter note at the 10:09:00 mark you get to hear Cat flub a line and talk to someone about it, which might annoy some people but i found funny.

P.S. I am seriously looking forward to the Rainy Madox book. so please hurry up and give it to me!!!

Great story & narration but technical difficulty

This is another great story in this series. For those who haven't been following the series it's also the second couple of our blended extended family groups to finally stop circling around each other and act on the attraction they've been denying for years.

I appreciate the way the author blends the modern world in with the paranormal elements of the story but find it especially lazy writing that in a world inhabited by demons, shifters, vampires, and other paranormal characters that the default race for all of the characters are white as if you were watching 'Ozzie and Harriet' or 'The Andy Griffin Show.'

I’m totally in love with the Dark in You world, but…

Like with Tanner in the previous book (Shadows), there’s something wrong with Keenan’s voice. Sometimes he is himself and sometimes he sounds like Knox.

I love the story, the danger, the demons abilities. I love how tight knit this group of people is, and I thoroughly enjoy the banter between the girls. I still can’t wait for Raini’s story (and what about Levi and Larkin?!) but I hope it will be less repetitive.

Cat Doucette is a skilled narrator.

I have a more in-depth review on my metalkarin Wix-blog.

Editing issue

Great story, love the series and the author, Cat does a wonderful job with the voices. The editor of the series however, leaves some double sentences throughout the series (same sentence said twice). This book in particular, at the very end of Chapter 18, there was a part where Cat said "okay, I was scrolling and then yup" and then says the line again.
