About this listen

An emotional and angsty grumpy sunshine hockey romance from USA Today and WSJ best-selling author L A Cotton. Are you ready to fall in love with a Laker?

When Harper Dixon discovers her father is the Lakeshore U Lakers new assistant coach, she wonders if her life can get any worse.

Enter Mason Steele.

Arrogant. Cold. With enough ice around his heart to freeze anyone who gets too close.

When Mason proposes one night to exorcise the fiery attraction between them, the last thing he expects is to wake up to an empty bed the next morning.

Or to find himself unable to get his new coach’s daughter out of his thoughts.

He’s Lakeshore U’s broody left winger with the weight of the world on his shoulders.
She’s vivacious, persistent, and has puck bunny written all over her.

Can Mason stick to his biggest rule and keep Harper out of his head—and his bed?

Or will she be able to prove to him that sometimes skating on thin ice is worth the risk?

On Thin Ice is a standalone novel set in the Lakeshore U series. It is recommended for listeners over 18.

Great story and narrators

This is my favorite Lakeshore U book so far. Mason and Harper’s story development was well done. The narrators made this a great listen! The emotions that you can hear in their voices made the story come alive.

I love this couple!

Stella Hunter and Teddy Hamilton are a great duo. Their performance of Mason and Harper was so good. This grumpy-sunshine was filled with so much angst. Mason’s character had me feeling a sort of way for a big portion of the book and the performance by Teddy had me annoyed in a good way. That just meant that he delivered a stellar performance and was so in tune to his part. Stella was exactly how I would have pictured Harper to sound. I really enjoyed this book despite the mmc having his head in his behind for a big portion of the time. This will have any listener in their feels.

Grumpy-Sunshine hockey romance w/ angst and gorgeous narration.

Mason is a player on the Lakeshore U hockey team and also feels he has to take the place of his father who left his family, leaving him to assist his mother in taking care of his younger autistic brother Scottie. The pressure is intense and he distrusts most people especially women as he fears they will distract him from his goals to make it to the NHL and to be able to support his family.

His best friend Noah’s girlfriend is good friends with Harper Dixon. He fights his attraction to her until he sees how she supports Scottie when she volunteers for special needs children. It changes Mason’s way of seeing her. As someone who was disregarded by her own father Mason sees that they have similar experiences with their fathers and he begins to fall hard for her.

Teddy Hamilton and Stella Hunter’s narration brings all the characters to life. 🏆

Hate to love is my kryptonite I couldn’t get enough of Harper and Mason they had this fiery palpable chemistry. I was so captivated by this story and the representation in this book was everything so refreshing I can’t wait for more of this series.

Angsty

Harper and Mason have both never had it easy, but while Harper tried to stay positive, Mason was very grumpy. He was cruel to Harper and misjudged her. But he did redeem himself, and he became very protective over her.

This is an angsty, grumpy/sunshine, college sports romance with real life issues mixed in.

The narrators, Teddy Hamilton and Stella Hunter did an amazing job bringing the story to life. This is narrated in duet, and they both did a great job differentiating their voice for each male/female character.

A beautiful addition to the Lakeshore U series

This is a beautiful addition to the Lakeshore U hockey series. At first, I couldn't stand Mason, the grumpy hockey hero, but I gained a deeper understanding of his burdens as the story unfolded. Harper, the coach's daughter with celiac disease, faced challenges and reminded me of one of my best friends who also suffers from this disease. The book beautifully delves into their journey of love amidst complex family dynamics. The side characters and their witty banter added humor, and the found family elements melted my heart. Mason's redemption, in the end, left me satisfied. I must mention that the audio narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Stella Hunter was exceptional. I highly recommend this book!
