About this listen

New York Times best-selling author Stephanie Laurens is praised for her sultry Bar Cynster series of romances, including A Secret Love and All About Love. On a Wild Night may be the most sensual and completely uninhibited Cynster book yet.

It's 1825 in London, and the two curvaceous and blonde 23-year-old Cynster twins, Amanda and Ameliaare, are desperate to get married. All they need are two fine, strapping gentlemen - preferably with large purses.

So what do these two lusty young ladies do? They make a visit to the local gaming halls, of course! But when Amanda unexpectedly bumps into the notorious Martin Fulbridge, the fifth Earl of Dexter, a chain of events is set into motion that will leave one sister ravished - and the other ravenous for all the juicy details.

Mature listeners will delight in Amanda and Amelia's scandalous adventures around London.

I loved the characters, the story & the narrator, who is excellent in all the books I have listened to by him! The only thing that could have improved this book, for me, is by making the too many sex scenes shorter would have made the book considerably shorter. I fast forwarded through the later ones because they were so repetitive. But overall Excellent book!! Thank you for the EXCELLENT listen.

EXCELLENT

I loved the story of the strong minded Amanda Cynster and her strong willed Martin. She took control of her future by chasing him until he caught her. Stephanie throws in romance, intrigue and adventure. Simon Prebble has the voice and reads the stories as if they are his own and takes you into them as if you were there. I do think the sexual interludes could be reduced a bit but It is her story to tell and I give her accolades for it. Can't wait to read what Amelia does to get her mate.

Stephanie Laurens along with Simon Prebble delivered another great novel.

This book and "On a Wicked Dawn" are two of my favorites from the Cynster series by Stephanie Laurens. This is not your typical "A rake takes a simpering virgin to bed" type romance. Amanda is a mature woman with good brains in her head and Martin's character is sexy but believable.

Loved it

Enjoyed this almost as much as the previous stories, and better than the story about Vane.

Fun read for the Cynister series

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Edit, edit, edit! It was a good story but could have told in fewer words.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Amanda as her high spirit is admirable. A great secondary character is the mature Lady (eldest) in charge of 'society' - her name escapes me as I read this a while ago but she is a hoot.

Have you listened to any of Simon Prebble’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

N/A

Was On a Wild Night worth the listening time?

No, it was too drawn out for the story.

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed this book, the characters were developed and the story lines interesting, it just could have used a better edit.

"Historical" Romance...it was SO LONG

Taking the time to comment on this audiobook because it was a truly full story from beginning to end. To me it was a little more touching than simply gratuitous. The passion was exquisite. Thoroughly enjoyed the listen!

Passionate and touching

Loved it🤗🤗🤗. Wonderful read and I want to be as strategic as Amanda in order to snare my lion. 😀

Sizzling

Love the Cynster series even with it basically being the same story in each book. My complaint is that the sex scenes are too drawn out. And the men never allow their soon-to-be wives to complete an oral act on them. I guess the men were different back then. I recommend the book as things occur in each book that help you understand something in the next installment. The narrator is fabulous!

Sex scenes too long!

Simon Prebble as the narrator is utterly fantastic. His voice is the only thing that kept me hanging in there on a 15 HOUR book! Truly,
I love the wild Amanda Cynster and her twin Amelia. This story focuses on Amanda and her search for a man just like her cousins. In other words, a rake waiting to be reformed. It’s a cute story, but it drags on WAAAAY too long.

Narration saves it

What did you love best about On a Wild Night?

I really like when the herione knows what she wants for and puts all on the line to get it.
