Publisher's summary

#1 New York Times bestselling author Iris Johansen introduces a bold new heroine—and her search-and-rescue dog—as Kira Drake begins an international search for an elusive killer.

Kira Drake has come to Paris with her highly trained Golden Retriever, Mack, to investigate the horrific bombing of a museum in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower. What she doesn’t know is that one powerful man has a special reason to find the person responsible.

Jack Harlan has all the money in the world, but it can’t bring his brother back. His sibling was murdered during the theft of a scientific discovery that could have made the world a better place. Now, after a four-year search, Harlan learns that this bombing was the work of the same twisted man.

Kira and her dog are in demand from law enforcement agencies all over the world, but Harlan convinces her to continue the investigation for his own purposes, wherever it may lead. So against her better judgment, Kira finds herself on the hunt, placing her trust in Harlan. For what she hopes is justice. When what he may be seeking is vengeance.

Wonderful as always.

I love all of Iris Johansen’s books. Loved this like the Kendra Michaels series. But I have a comment, the main characters, meant to be so strong, come off as whiny. Not sure if it’s the narrator or the dialogue, but they so often go on rants about how strong and independent they are they come off as whining about it. It annoys me. Anyone that independent wouldn’t need to declare it every time they talk. I still have this 5’s and recommend this to others but I wanted to comment on that.

On how they took care of all animals and trained them. And friendship and the protection.

I like the whole book. I can’t wait for another one to come out. I have most of all your books and digital.

A book in true Iris fashion

This is a wonderful new series by Ms. J. If you have never read any of her other wonderful novels, you will fall in love with these characters while you picture yourself a part of the story. If you love her other series as I do, this will be a truly enjoyable addition to your collection as the characters continue on with the training of amazing animals that do add so much to the story. A very enjoyable listen!

Storyline about horses

Honestly terrible read. The attempt at male voices was painful to listen to. The story was ok. Could have been shorter. The main characters and their constant need to be in control became annoying after a bit. We get it. No one likes being told what to do.

Loved It

I liked everything about the book. These are 4 (6?) more great characters. I hope it becomes a series!

Character development and pacing

Nothing. Enjoyed it completely. Finished in one day. Can't wait for next book in the series.

Rarely disappointed

I’ve read/listened to Iris Johansen for a really long time. This one was brutal. It was all over the place. I liked how it brought in some old characters, but the story line wasn’t up to what I expected.

Redundancy

Tired old theme: me woman you man(dog). It bordered on ridiculous most of the time. Usually like author
