I love this series. Any easy and fun listen. It’s mildly racy...a little profanity and suggestive situations, but pretty tame overall. Love Owen and Katie. And love the progression of the relationship. I revisit this series every year or so and listen again. Recommend!

A lovely romp through an alt universe where magic is real. The heroine is engaging and funny. The hero is oblivious and dashing. The story line is engaging and fun. I started the first on a whim based on the cover, title and reviews. I'm glad I did. They have been quite fun. Lighthearted interactions that have kept me engaged through out. I'm looking forward to the next one.

Great next book in the series. Fun listen. katie's parents visit, learn where Katie inherited her immunity. And those red shoes her roommates wanted Katie to buy in the last book - they make a return visit and play an important role in this book. Katie has an unusual experience (more than normally unusual for her) and sees things from "the other" viewpoint. Great fun, fast story, fantastic narration. I highly recommend this book and this series. Just bought the next book and about to start listening.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I tend to get frustrated when I figure things out way before a character does - end up mentally shouting at them to get a clue. I liked the first novel in the series quite a bit, but I got really annoyed with Katie in this one. Am debating if I'll move on to the third book.

Would you be willing to try another book from Shanna Swendson? Why or why not?

Foreshadowing is a little heavy-handed

I despise plots that rely on the characters stubbornly keeping things to themselves when just one adult conversation would fix literally all of the problems. I spent this entire book getting more and more exasperated with Katie for keeping her problems to herself, especially because they had such an impact on those around her. Torpedo your own love life because you're a coward all you want, but don't put your friends and coworkers into danger because you're too chicken to admit anything.

Other than that I guess it was okay? Hard to gauge when I spent the whole time rolling my eyes at the protagonist.

Totally and profoundly hooked on the series! Ladies life is hard work on all aspects of life these days. You deserve the absolute enchanting delight these audio books will bring to u! A little magic goes a long way!

I wasn't sure what to expect when I started this series, but from the moment I started reading I was hooked. The hilarity of each situation, and plot twist. The incredible imagination of Shanna Swendson sucks you into this hysterical world with in NYC, of unexpected fairies, and trolls, gargoyles and magical folk. You will be laughing from one book to the next, and chomping at the bit for the next book to find where the crazy leads you. A must listen. The narration is perfect also. Eva Wilhem really brings these characters to life.
