About this listen

In this follow-up novel to the top-selling Ten Tiny Breaths, Livie Cleary faces a new set of challenges as she navigates freshman year at Princeton, wild parties, and the gorgeous rowing team captain who is everything she doesn’t want in a guy, or so she thinks....

"Make me proud." These were the last words Livie’s father ever spoke to her. In the seven years since her parents’ tragic death, Livie has done her best to keep this promise through her every choice, word, and action, while looking after her sister with strength and maturity. But with college right around the corner, unexpected challenges will test her resilience - and her heart.

Livie walks into Princeton with a solid plan, and she’s dead set on delivering on it: Rock her classes, set herself up for medical school, and meet a good, respectable guy to marry someday. What isn’t part of her plan are Jell-O shots; a lovable, party animal roommate she can’t say "no" to; and Ashton, the arrogant - and extremely attractive - captain of the men’s rowing team who makes Livie’s usually non-existent temper flare. Worse, he’s best friends and roommates with Connor, who fits Livie’s criteria perfectly. So why does she keep thinking about Ashton?

As Livie finds herself facing mediocre grades, career aspirations she no longer thinks she can handle, and feelings for Ashton that she shouldn’t have, she’s forced to let go of her last promise to her father and, with it, the only identity that she knows.

I thought the first book was good. This one was good too. Maybe I'm wrong but it seems to me that what I'm hearing is this narrator pronounces anything ending with an "ing" like "ine". Like disgustine, enjoyine, gettine, runnine. It's nails on a chalkboard to me. But truly, it's the only thing (thine) I can complain about because otherwise she would be a good narrator with different voice inflections and the story is really good.

Good except for one tiny thing!

Would you listen to One Tiny Lie again? Why?

Yes, this is one of the few that was entertaining enough I would listen to again. Loved this book. From the beginning it had me laughing. Loved Ashton from the start and knew there was more to him than met the eye. There is silliness in this book that made me laugh out loud. And heart, heat of the two characters for one another. This book had everything. Loved it.

What was one of the most memorable moments of One Tiny Lie?

I don't want to give it away. In the book she has an inner fight of what she wants versus what is expected of her. It's great.

What does Elizabeth Louise bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She did a very good job with all the voices.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Sure. Possibly the best book I have listened to on Audible yet.

Any additional comments?

The book starts out very silly with college type partying, but it's so funny. Then the heart kicks in. I truly cared for these characters. The book brought out every emotion possible. Tears, laughter, OMG moments. Fantastic. Going to search for the next in the series right now.

My Favorite K.A. Tucker book so far.

This is the next book after Ten Tiny Breaths. Takes place in a completely different setting so it changes things up a bit with a college setting. Livy goes to Princeton and struggles with relationships between two different guys, the one she should be with and the one she wants to be with. It keeps you hanging on to see what is going to happen next. I thought this one was really good. Had some humor and of course some drama as the YA stories do. Hard to put down for sure. Worth the credit.

Great!

All I can say is I want a Dr. Stainer in my life!!! Olivia’s (Livy) story was just as heartbreaking as her sister Casey. This is definitely one of my top favorite book series!! Highly recommend for the soul who has damaged by the loss of a loved one.

This series just keeps getting better!
