About this listen

The New York Times bestselling author of the Wedding Pact and Rose Gardner series presents a heartwarming romantic comedy where after a string of disasters, two opposites have just sworn off love—only to have sparks fly when they move in next door to each other.

Romance isn't an option for Holly Greenwood. With her wedding planner career on the line she needs to stay focused, and that means pleasing her demanding boss, not getting distracted by her mind-alteringly hot neighbor . . .

Ex-Marine Kevin Vandemeer craves normalcy. Instead, he has a broken-down old house in need of a match and some gasoline, a meddling family, and the uncanny ability to attract the world's craziest women. At least that last one he can fix: he and his buddies have made a pact to swear off women, and this includes his sweetly sexy new neighbor.

After one hot night that looks a whole lot like a disaster in the light of day, Kevin and Holly are about to learn that true love doesn't play by the rules . . .

Great story, great voices by the narrator. But...

What did you love best about Only You?

The story was amazing. It was a wonderfully sappy love story with enough suspense to keep you listening.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Only You?

When Holly finally agreed to be Kevin's girlfriend

Did Loretta Rawlins do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Yes, I liked how she did different voices for different people. She kept the voices the same and it was easy to differentiate. My only criticism about Loretta is the way she ends all her sentences. She puts an extra "uh" at the end of each sentence. "Do you want to go with me-yuh?" "No-wuh." "I have to plan the wedding-guh." It's really, really annoying.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Any additional comments?

This is my only criticism about the narrator, and I mentioned it before but it bears repeating. It is my opinion she needs to relearn how to end her sentences. She puts an extra "uh" at the end of each sentence. "Do you want to go with me-yuh?" "No-wuh." "I have to plan the wedding-guh." It's really, really annoying.

Narration distracting

The narrator's pacing and random pauses/hesitations were very distracting. I listened to Swank's Wedding Pact series that this one is spun from and enjoyed it much more - in large part due to the narrator.

I did manage to listen to this whole story but don't think I can stomach the rest of the series if they use the same narrator. Too bad because I've really enjoyed Swank's books.

Super Funny Romance!

I loved this book! It was a cute funny love story that can be a stand alone or you can read the next book in the series and enjoy a few similar characters.
This book 1 in the Bachelor Brotherhood Kevin a former marine, back home with his two best friends decide they have complete sworn off women. Well we all know what happens you say never again. Sure enough the girl of his dreams walk into his life. Will he keep the pack? Or will his adorable neighbor steal his heart? This is a great lighthearted romance.

1st Audiobook

This is my first Audiobook, and it was a very interesting experience. Having someone read to me took time to get use to. I can say that I truly enjoyed the story, and I got to listen to it while cooking, getting ready for work or just my daily things around the house.

For a review of Only You, I love Denise Grover Swank's work. I enjoyed The Wedding Pact series, and I think The Bachelor Brotherhood is a great follow up. I can't wait to hear more from the other 2 brothers, and to catch up with Holly and Kevin's story! if you have enjoyed The Wedding Pact you'll love this, if you haven't read The Wedding Pact you can read this with out losing anything!

Story 5, narration 1

Loved all the books in the 2 interconnected series (Wedding Pact & Bachelor Brotherhood) but the narrators staccato reading made it painful to listen to.

Hmm.

Hmm. The story was cute in parts and the characters were flat but likable. The story showed promise but fell short. There wasn't any tension, the characters didn't really do anything, and the ending was implausible to say the least.
