Oracle 2: The Dreamland Murders is a gripping psychological thriller series follow-up to Andrew Pyper’s audiobook Oracle. Performed by an ensemble cast with Joshua Jackson, Devon Bostick, and Humberly Gonzalez, Pyper's high-stakes thrill ride continues the journey of FBI agent Nate Russo as he tracks an elusive serial killer and discovers an ancient curse. This time, Russo’s unique psychic gifts and killer instincts will lead him to the secrets of an idyllic New England village, and to Dreamland—the abandoned amusement park built on something evil that refuses to stay buried.

Stylistically different from the first Oracle

A surprisingly different style from the first book.
Both were good listens! The podcast style of this one, however, adds a dramatic, immersive quality.

Interesting

You really need to listen to Oracle first. I listened to the whole thing over an afternoon and evening. A bit corny, indeed, but quite enjoyable!

Loved it!

Great follow up to the first book. As much as I love Joshua Jackson as a narrator, I loved the full cast.

Just WOW

This show came up as a recommendation based on other books I’ve listened to; but I hadn’t heard or read the first story, audiobook. So I listened to that one yesterday. Loved it. It was thrilling, just scary enough to tuck my feet under me on the couch rather than let them dangle near the dark floor. Then I got to follow it with this fully voice acted second book with a main actor that I have loved from Dawson’s Creek, to Fringe and even to Dr Death; and I listened to the whole thing twice in a day and a half. Just Wow. Forget Odd Thomas and IT. This just brought the dark hero to a whole new level of light. And just a trigger warning, and not a spoiler, but some of us have gifts or “super powers” like working our best under pressure or being the peace keeper and organizer in our jobs because we didn’t have such happy childhoods and grew up in a time that our dysfunctional life was privately so and we had to make it look perfect for the Christmas card. Nate’s gift and power for good is a bit of that but in a fantastic way. It’s ok to not be ok and it’s even better to know not ok doesn’t mean you can’t help someone else find ok.

Hold on to your seat; think of your childhood friends and hometown New England. Grab a cup of coffee and some tissues. You’re gonna love this ride.

Had some trouble setting it up but worth sticking with it

Cool! Like watching a play but only hearing it instead. The story was good and following the characters from 1 to 2 made it more interesting.

An Exciting Sequel

I didn't expect to see a sequel to the first story of Oracle, so when I saw the ad for it on my Audible homepage, I had to pause my current listen to. Though not as frightening as the Bone Man, the supernatural antagonist of this story is just as enticing to listen to.

I enjoyed listening to this story. It's format reminds of radio shows, and hearing more audio books like this is becoming popular once again.

The only reason I gave the story 4 stars is because I found the first story more exciting to listen to. Overall, I still give it 5 stars.
