About this listen

The wildly popular alter ego of best-selling author Jayne Ann Krentz creates "delectably entertaining paranormal romantic suspense" (Booklist) in the "unique, synergistic world of St. Helen's" (Library Journal), the not-so-distant space colony where hearts and minds are gloriously in sync.

A top psychic for exclusive Psynergy Inc., Orchid Adams has her hands full with a baffling murder - which doesn't exactly allow time for husband hunting. Is it even possible there's a man on St. Helen's who measures up to her dreams of wedded bliss? Take her new client, Rafe Stonebraker: Primitive and elemental, an unlicensed PI with some serious secrets, Rafe is hardly marriage material. So why does his powerful presence have Orchid imagining the most outrageous affair?

Rafe is embroiled in solving a strange theft while thwarting a hostile takeover of Stonebraker Shipping; he needs a wife - and fast - to salvage his credibility. Orchid Adams doesn't fit the profile he had in mind, but she fits in his arms. Will their electrifying connection end up getting them burned?

Another great Harmony story. The narrator uses a tinny, whiny voice for the female lead character. It’s grating after a short while.

An oldie but a goodie, I’m always a fan of Jayne Castle and I read this series of books way back when I was younger. I will admit I liked them better when I read them, than when I listened to them. But that also might be the difference of my age back then as to now. Also, I have read so much since then that taste do change. Even still I enjoyed the romance and the world building that was created.

The romantic and the cynic.

This is one of the authors earlier books the last in a set of three. I have read them all and love hearing them again.

I loved it

Cute world building, nice romance sprinkled with a little paranormal sci fi. Got the rest of the series while it was on sale.

Fun listen

I first read this trilogy many years ago. It’s light, quirky and sexy with capable & confident heroes who appreciate intelligent women that end up complicating their lives. Castle/Amanda Quick/Jane Ann Krentz is my “go to” author for Pick Me Up reads & I’ve read this many times over the years. The heroines are unique- choosing the road less traveled & spunky. Both characters are psychic/paranormal (talented) but not in a witchy, mage or horoscope sense - it’s more physical, like an extra “sense.” The trope is Proximity/Danger, a favorite. This was my first time “reading” w audio & Tanya Eby read the voices well.

An “old” favorite- Light Fantasy Romance Suspense

The series is well done, I was in love with the books from the first. Although the first book was my least favorite, I’m sure there are readers who liked It much better than I. Despite my not liking the book so much, I loved the idea of St. Helens tremendously. The narrator did a good job reading. I love the dust bunny series more because of other factors, but would love it if Jayne Castle ever decided to go back to St. Helens and do some more books, maybe open up the world a bit for her readers.

I love this series

Rafe Stonebraker needs a wife, so he goes hunting. Not at a marriage agency, as most of the planet would do, but at a prism agency. It worked for his friends, it should work for him. When he finds the right prism, she's not exactly what he was expecting, but just what he needs. This begins a delightful... okay, maybe not delightful, more like entertaining (for the reader), definitely, interesting, adventuresome, and at times hilarious.

I love this series, and I believe this to be my favorite of the three books. Each book gets better and better. I've probably read this series five or more times since discovering it. I highly recommend this book and series to others.

The story was fun and the characters were somewhat different than her usual but still the same. I always know I’m going to enjoy her work, though there was a period when the public craved more explicit sex and I didn’t really enjoy that. At least she made it consensual and without hurt. Some of what The other authors wrote was too nasty.
The was only one or two books by this author that I felt were a little subpar for her, but that was when she was coming out with a new book under all 3 pen names every year. That’s a little much to expect from an author.
Have fun with your read or listen!

Good, as usual

Book 3/3 in the St Helens Colony books has Rafe Stonebraker needing a wife to take over as CEO for his family’s business. Of course, he uses marriage counselor Mr Hobart Batt to launch his search, since his friends Lucas Trent and Nick Chastain had such good luck using him. See books 1&2 for their stories. This is pretty much a stand alone story, so reading them is not required.
There’s the usual romantic suspense with a murder and theft thrown in, in a well written fluffy time out. And the fun made up foods and animals thrown in the mix - the colonists used amusingly similar Earth names like: cofftea, pearberry, caketart; jagpards, catdogs with 6 legs, spiderfrog silk quilts, stubborn as an oxmule.
Eby does a decent job of narration.
