Publisher's summary

Adalia and her sister Jamari Moore are teenage gamers obsessed with vanquishing demonic creatures in a Massively Multiplayer Online world called The Golden Age. They lead a closely knit guild of players in weekly dungeon raids and guild versus guild war games also known as war zones. Their brilliant combat tactics and ruthless fighting prowess has gained the attention of Divine Enterprises.

As summer break rapidly approaches Adalia and Jamari's parents instruct them to find part time summer jobs so they don't spend every waking moment immersed in an online world. By chance the Moore sisters find themselves interviewing for internships with the same gaming company that owns and publishes The Golden Age.

During their interview with the company's CEO a demon suddenly appears causing Adalia and Jamari to expose a carefully guarded secret. Unfazed by the demon's appearance the CEO makes Adalia and Jamari an offer that will change their lives and faith forever.

A world of fantasy

Any additional comments?

This is a nice audiobook to listen while driving to work and driving back home. Although this is not my main genre, I enjoyed listening to it. I highly recommend to those who enjoy fantasy books.

Complete satisfaction

Where does Order of Saint Michael rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I feel it is excellent. The story line and characters are both believable and engaging .there is a great mix of interaction from many characters that cause the listener to become completely immersed in the story.

What did you like best about this story?

The concept of good vs. evil in a new and exciting way. With a basic principal it is hard to generate a new and different approach. I feel the Author here did a fantastic job , and I look forward to the next book in this series .

Which character – as performed by Andrea Emmes – was your favorite?

It would be hard to separate the sisters as they are both exciting in there own separate ways. I truly enjoyed the way the reader was able to not only change her voice to show that Adalia and Jamari were different people but she was ables to show each with a rich personality .

If you could take any character from Order of Saint Michael out to dinner, who would it be and why?

This is very difficult as it would obviously be the girls but I would not want to be with just one. I would love to just sit there and let them talk about the best way to do battle.

Any additional comments?

I love Audible books as they go far beyond the written page. If the reader is good , and this one is excellent, you get so evolved with the story the fictional characters become real to you.

Narration kept my interest

Where does Order of Saint Michael rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This was the second audiobook that I've heard and I would rank this as #2.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Order of Saint Michael?

The college party scene where Adalia and Jamara saved that poor girl and dealt with all of those demons.

What does Andrea Emmes bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Andrea's narration is really what kept me interested in finishing the audiobook. When I read a book, I like to put myself inside the story as the main character and she really helped draw me and keep me in. Her ability to differentiate her voice for each character helped me know who was speaking and stuck with me as the story progressed so that each time I would hear that character's voice again, I knew instantly who it was.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. The author takes the story down some unnecessary rabbit holes that really didn't stick to a solid idea and that pulled me out of the story a bit, but the story line and concept was definitely good enough to want to me to continue since it peaked my curiosity.

Any additional comments?

My only comment for the narrator would be to work on stronger male voices so they sound more masculine. Maybe add more gravel to the voice. It must be hard to do being a woman, and even though the male voices were good, they could still use some work.

Brillant ~ electric

If you could sum up Order of Saint Michael in three words, what would they be?

I thought it was intriguing, vividly descriptive and in many ways thought provoking. The lavish scene descriptions painted a picture in my head that just left me in awe and placed me in the center of all the action. I'd say this is an outstanding work due to the demons and obsession theme of the book and how it just all comes back to the games. I thought that the main characters, Adalia and Jamari who are the first of command of a guild of players from the online game The Golden Age were awesome. From the very start of this book I was hooked. It was a thrill ride into a world of war between heaven and hell. war between heaven and hell

What did you like best about this story?

I liked the vivid storytelling about the look of the demons, I could feel the fear of the battle between good against evil. There were parts of the story that sent a chill up my spine.

What about Andrea Emmes’s performance did you like?

Andrea Emmes's performance was outstanding. I liked the way her voice changed with each character. She had just the right about of tension in her voice. I was swept away.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

God's Army stands to fight another day.

Any additional comments?

I hope there will be another book coming out soon.

Sisters use gifts from God to battle Demons

Order of Saint Michael - God's Army is written by Kobie Newton and Narrated by Andrea Emmes. This book takes a behind the veil look at the spiritual world and the working of demons and Angels to influence our daily life. This book is written as a Young Adult story of two sisters who unknowingly are playing an online multiplayer game that is owned by a company essentially run by angels.

This sounds far fetched but within the storyline it works. The game allows the Angels to find Holy Warriors who are human. The sisters have a gift that allows them to see the spirit realm and the story is about their first adventure as members of the Order of Saint Michael.

Andrea Emmes is a christian musician who loves theater and has taken all her God given talents and is using them as a audiobook narrator. The voices of the characters are unique and consistent throughout the audiobook. She brings the story to life and from the beginning you as a listener are transported to the world these sisters live in. I felt real emotion and concern for the characters as I listened.

This is the first book in a series I am excited to continue listening to. I received this book as a gift for an honest review.

Thanks Kobie Newton This Yaya Is A Rock Star

Well thanks very much for writing this book because I am a rock star with my teen Grand, the quintessential gamer girl apparently, or so she tells me. The minute I saw this book I knew it was perfect for her. I was not wrong.

However, I had made a promise to her mother not a reader by the way. That when I gave her the Kindle for the big 13, I would screen all the books before I sent them to her kindle so I agreed.

I was delighted from about page five this is an exciting and fast paced book that in my opinion is perfect for teenagers. I found nothing I would deem offensive or not age appropriate for my now fifteen year old. She was born with my love of books thank heavens I am particular about what she reads. Young and current is good schlock not so much.

This book leans so far from the schlock it is unbelievable I was very surprised the dialogue is on task and moves the story forward with sometimes an alarming rate for an old lady. But my Grand tell me it keeps her attention and then some.

I like the dynamic of the sisters one being a rebel and one being the level headed one, but what really like is all the subtext the author added to the sisters in their dialogue and the subtle relationship that unfolds before us.

It should be noted there are a whole bunch of great moments in this book and I know that if you are looking for that special girl gift this one won’t let you down. My Grand also signed up to be notified of new releases by this author that is how I know it is a grand slam with her too.

I’m giving this a five because what YaYa does not want to hear “you rock Yaya this book is so cool.” Does it get any better than that, I don’t think so. PS this is one of the only audios I have listened to that the narrator is really good too.

Mesmerizing Narration

Would you consider the audio edition of Order of Saint Michael to be better than the print version?

Yes, I would, as the narration kept me in grip to the story. And I became more curious at the end of each chapter.

What about Andrea Emmes’s performance did you like?

I loved it. Her style of narration was so unique that I generally don't opt for audio books. But after listening to the first chapter, I could not stop myself and kept going on to discover more.

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed my time listening to this audio book, the story is so interesting, that it keeps you engaged all throughout the story.

Andrea Emmes's narration is brilliant and, the way her voice pitch changes with each character’s personality, it was mesmerizing. While listening to her I was drawn to the story so much, that each fictional character was turning into reality.

I would recommend this audio book to anyone who loves getting absorbed in the creative world.
