About this listen

For Riley Corbeau, moving to a small town on Superior's north shore was an opportunity for his family to find a new beginning after the death of his mother. For Gathering Cloud, living on Kitche Gumi's shore now meant it was time seek a vision and become a man.

There on a beach of this legendary lake, two boys meet across time and impossibilities, brought together to face an ancient evil from Anishnabe folklore, and, in doing so, forge a friendship that defies time.

Out of Time was a lengthy but enjoyable story. It toggles between Riley's modern world and problems and another world with creative characters and problems flawlessly. The turtle was a delightful character! He was an unexpected and charismatic static friend, whom I quickly adored.
This was my first book by this author and narrator and I'm impressed with both. I am compelled to seek more from either - and hopefully both. Wonderful example of blending and complementing project.
Highly recommended for family reading or for youth. I didn't notice any triggers or unsuitable topics, scenarios, or language. The mother's death is lightly touched, as is death in general.
