I appreciate Dr. Mamalakis challenge to refocus our attentions to our greater goal (relationship with Christ) over our immediate wants (a peaceful home). This is an excellent book ! My first child was a breeze so when my son started having issues I was at a complete loss :( this book was an essay read with sound advice coming from both a biblical Christian perspective as well as sound psychological science. I highly recommend this book to any parent regardless of faith background. I was able to put things into practice right away and have seen amazing results with my children and an improvement in our relationship :) A truly invaluable work, accessible and a joy to read!

This is the first parenting book I have read that truly respects who we are as a family growing together in Christ. no systems or gimmicks. Just firm limits, realistic expectations, and calling us to repentance when our kids (as well as ourselves) fall short. I'll give this to all the new parents in my life, and I only wish it had been written when we had our first child!
